they can be added in game by going into the texture packs menu and opening the folder, then dragging the zip into there

I am pleased to announce that the launcher now has a modpack that will allow you to play the FTB Insanity map on SMP with your friends! simply hit the download server button to download all the files and you can then connect to that server (which has the map pre-loaded) and start playing!

i'm not a fan of texture packs, but i really like this one, good job!

yeah, slowpoke drew my attention to the fact that i had a PM from Morton :) and we agreed that it deserves to be on the launcher, especially considering the great reaction to it from the community :)

We want as many texture packs as possible in the launcher! if you make (and only if you make it) a texture pack that has full (or almost full) FTB support, feel free to send me a PM, i will use the pack for a bit and unless i find any major errors, i will add it onto the launcher :) I look...

yeah, the launcher deletes the mods folder before updating, ive had a few ideas about ways to store manually added mods, so you may see that feature soon :)

try changing the download server on the options tab, then force updating
