Personally, I use Xycraft's blocks inside my house (I'm using the Magic World pack with Xycraft added since XycraftWorld is 1.4.5 but not 1.4.2). That makes mobs spawning inside my house impossible.

Personally, I look at the Magic World pack more like a "Fantasy Steampunk World" pack. That way, it can still use some of the more advanced mods (like BC) while keeping the magicky feel.
