What power gen way is your way?

That's big beautiful even number. :D I also realized, that it's quite hard to fully comprehend how much work is put into something like this considering all of the answers up until know feel a little underwhelming, and so does reading my own description. Maybe we need pictures here too, that...

What power gen way is your way?

I'm interested in what people use for power-gen mostly mid to late-game, because I want to do some upgrades and although my army of steam dynamos connected to my treefarm and sawmills is kinda cool, it's a bit complicated to set up.

Any info on Project Red at all?

Well, yeah you can uase them without the gun, but I think it's still the same pair of portals as the gun. So if you open a pair of portals with the wall things, then shoot one with the gun somewhere it will replace the one on the one of wall portals.

Any info on Project Red at all?

I think you're talking about the wall mounted portal things, but if I remember right they're connected to the gun. Anyway in the end I did use the rftools way, and I ended up changing the quarry's power source the main energy cell instead of an auxiliary almost self-sufficient power generation...

Any info on Project Red at all?

My problem with the Portal gun is that it's only a single pair of portals. I do have multiple guns but because they're not a machine or structure I feel like they're just temporary and I don't want to use it like a permanent transport. The Blood Magic teleposer definitely works on players too...

Any info on Project Red at all?

Not too long ago I put together a giant amount of mods to play with and one of them is project red. Now I'm pretty advanced techwise, and I decided to finally make some kind of teleporter from my home to my quarry. After a bit of searching I found that the Blood Magic teleposer would be ideal...

    Another guy with lag issues

Yeah, I guess getting more RAM is gonna be my next task. Until then I'll try allocating 2.5GBs to Minecraft, hopefully that'll be enough because the only reason I bumped it up to 3GB is because 2 wasn't enough. I could see on the F3 screen that RAM usage would go up to the max, lag spike, then...

Oh, yeah, screenshots. That's also a way of doing it :D

    Another guy with lag issues

I had a feeling maybe windows wanted some more of the RAM too :D I hope it's just that, because I was planning on buying more anyway. Also what do you mean by garbage collection? I have tons of mods so I'll say the ones that come to my mind right now and edit in the rest gradually. DivineRPG...

    Another guy with lag issues

Nothing that would take up more than almost zero resources. I usually have Firefox open to check wikis and stuff, and VLC for music, but this time I closed those too. Even fraps wasn't running because it decided it didn't want to start on startup and I didn"t notice it back then.

    Another guy with lag issues

I get random lag spikes, and I have no idea why. Obviously the metric ton mods I've installed doesn't help the case, but I can't really figure out the cause of the lag spikes. I've allocated 3GBs of RAM to Minecraft out of my 4, and when check the F3 menu it doesn't seem like the problem is the...

    Keeping mods updated

The only documentation I was interested in is basically the version number, that's why it seems to me like it'd be simple. The devs don't have to make sure their mods work with others, it's just that a lot of times they're aware that there are incompatibilities and they do mention it wherever...

    Keeping mods updated

I think you're misunderstood. I'm talking about keeping up with individual mods. In modpacks it's of course the devs' job to figure out incompatibilities, but if someone wants to do what I do, namely, grab random mods off the net and install them, then the user is the one who has to deal with...

    Keeping mods updated

You're overcomplicating it a lot. I was simply talking about updating mods. Dealing with incompatibilities is not something that it should resolve, but something users should be prepared to do. Obviously if there was something that could do what I asked it would at the very least notify the...

    Keeping mods updated

The problem is that I have to check every single mod's page to see if there's an update.

    Keeping mods updated

Aww, man, I was really hoping there was one. It's one of the big reasons why I don't di my modding manually anymore. The other is the fact that ihave to find every single mod.

Your reply is basically the same as the other b0bst3r's so my reply will also be the same.

    Keeping mods updated

Well, if I make the mods I've chosen work, then if any incompatibilities rise up there would probably be a log about what was updated last and then I'll know what's the problem. But as I've said a way to keep me notified of the new versions would be enough, but only some mods do that.

    Keeping mods updated

I have a question: is it possible with FTB or at least with some other launcher to keep certain mods installed and updated automatically? If I have a similar or larger amount of mods than the DW20 pack it's quite a hassle to keep checking every single mod if it's updated. At the very least I'd...
