Regardless of which modpack or who's creating it, you still need permission from all mod authors. FTB modpack creators do exactly the same thing as everyone else who makes a modpack. Excluding those who give blanket permission, of course.

Anything above about 3-4GB of RAM can screw Java over, since it doesn't know what to do with that much. Tends to kill performance too.

FTB staff aren't allowed to win FTB tournaments xD Everyone'd think it was rigged. Reminds me of the time that my school's vice principal won first prize from a school music concert raffle :P

If you're looking for proof, it was done in a live tournament with FTB staff supervising at PAX East. Otherwise, if you just want a video, me too :P I imagine someone will have uploaded the live-stream somewhere, we just need to find it.

FTB Tournament starts at 6PM = 1 hour & 50 minutes from now = me working until an hour after it starts = me probably completely missing it, considering it's over in 10 minutes = me sad :(

Cause I'm cheap and can't afford to make it there, will there be a stream of the FTB tournament (or PAX in general) and/or will a full video of the event be uploaded?

The splash's only there for about 5 seconds for me, and my laptop isn't exactly highest power that it could be. It suggests that there's something wrong with your computer, FTB install or that your computer's really slow.
