hey,

can you guys please remove the splash screen from the launcher which got recently added?
I see no reason that this is needed and it makes only problems. I allways use my task manager to close this starting screen because if I don't do this then it needs more time before the launcher is started or sometimes it won't start or it starts but I have still this screen in the background.

So please fix this or remove it :/

Takes exactly the same amount of time. Perhaps slightly more because it has to load an extra image and a loading bar, but by the time you've opened task manager and exited it, that time has already been taken up.

The only thing the splash screen does is shows how far along the console is to being fully loaded and ready to open the actual launcher.

Either you haven't understand my post or you don't believe it. To explain it again, the splash screen needs sometimes 10-60 seconds before it opens the launcher and sometimes it never opens the launcher.

The splash's only there for about 5 seconds for me, and my laptop isn't exactly highest power that it could be. It suggests that there's something wrong with your computer, FTB install or that your computer's really slow.

OP would need to have a worse computer than me, which is pretty hard to do (2007 Macbook, specs below). The launcher loads fine, with or without the loading bar thing.

2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
6GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256MB

Well, if it's only me with the issue then idk.
All I can really suggest is to follow the Basic Troubleshooting instructions and see if they help.
Please note that I have no idea if this is the most updated version available, but it should be pretty close: https://docs.google.com/document/d/17__CctJokfTCXovBs5YIdRhG39tdZlLMI_Mfq_aMu3k
@Ashzification or @gaz492, is there a newer basic troubleshooting thing? Does an official one even exist anymore?

Oh, going back to the original thing of "I see no reason that [the loading status display] is needed", I believe it'd be from FTB's aim to make the launcher appear more professional. I imagine (make no mistake, this is not an official comment of any kind) that their eventual aim would be to remove the console log from public view unless enabled in settings. Imagine how much cleaner it would make the launcher look, to have a nice simple loading bar instead of lines of difficult-to-decode text.
