    Volcanoes are really rare last I checked. Hundreds or thousands of blocks between volcanoes normally, perfectly possible you just missed them. If you really want to see go into the config and set the spawn chance to something ridiculous like 0.5.

    You might be pleased to hear then that in 3.2 Witching Gadgets is added, although the infernal blast furnace is disabled just as it's a magical version of the railcraft blast furnace which is also disabled. The rest of the mod should be unscathed though, well transmutations/clusters are disabled...

    Thaumcraft, you can use alchemy to turn an iron nugget and one ordo essentia into a steel nugget. After 3.2 rolls round that turns into a wrought iron nugget instead of normal iron but you can still make steel.

    You might be able to do that with dense ores + cofh or something, I'm pretty sure dense ores had a particularly versatile looking config file.

    Doesn't seem to trigger on tree growth if the BUD is only adjacent to the dirt the sapling is on.

    BUDs unfortunately do not work, a BUD next to a tree will block its growth. Good idea though. That said, I eventually got my goal halfworking, while I couldn't figure out how to do it by tree I did something that's probably better really, figured out how to get a filler and an activator working...

    Ways to check if a block exists in infinity without turtles, playing expert and want to be able to check if a block exists in a location and emit a redstone signal when it does. For a tree cutting system, need to be able to emit a signal only while the tree is grown.

    We want people to play, gating knowledge behind playing is much more reasonable than charging to play the mod. Although based off the idea I mentioned, to stop it so people just repost all the content on a different wiki, things like world seed affect how different things work so the info shown...

    Reminds me of one of the ideas I had for a mod, more spell creation style except based around creating static rituals more than spells. Part of the idea had it so that you couldn't really just copy stuff, you had to learn the patterns to do things to get the best results, sure copying the low...

    Don't forget to make the code change on a regular basis so you can't just check once and have to keep track of updates, ooh! Unique codes based off the instance, and each code can only be used once so you can't just google it either.

    The Witchery books are really just reference manuals rather than instructions, they're mostly just lists of all the different recipes. Most notably useful with circle magic as the rituals can't be shown in NEI, it's even got categories to help you find what you want though.

    Ask @Blood Asp? From the looks of things the material partially exists in the code, or at least something called "DarkThaumium" does and that seems like it was inspired by Void Metal to me. Also isn't autocrafting super early? I swear the buildcraft autocrafter was really easy to get.
