The problem with the texture packs not downloading is being worked on. Currently the only one that may work, but there are still issues, is jadedcat's mix pack. If you can't get it to work then just download the pack from the appropriate texture pack thread and install it manually.

Do you have anything in them? Are they chunkloaded?

The errors in your log relate to id problems. Is this a base pack or did you add any mods to it. If did not then I would try a force update of the pack.

Try updating your graphics card drivers. If you don't know how then tell me if your system is custom built or branded e.g Dell.

That is because when playing on a server most of the hard work is done by the server and not your system.

The texture is correct for me. It must be something on your end.

Is java using your nvidia card or your integrated one? Edit: Don't give that much ram to the launcher or you will starve your system and could cause the issues you are having. Make sure you are using the jvm arguments from the thread linked below...
