In addition, they have a higher production rate than apiaries without frames, so they are great early game for getting more combs / honey and building up a supply of drones. You are running the r3 version of AE2 and trying to load the r2 version of Thaumic Energistics. Either move to the stable r2 version of AE2 (which I recommend, r3 broke some stuff), or grab the r3 version of thaumic energistics instead.
