What's new in modded minecraft today?

Oh boy, even Reika doesn't show everything his mods can do, they are very diverse, impressive, and a tad laggy. I found his choice of low resolution video a bit odd but he probably has crap internet like me. That texture pack is also a little weird, at first I was proud because he appeared to be...

    32x Faithful 32x32 Pack

Just fixed the font on Factorization barrels to be pretty again and added Endsidian textures for Extra Utilities. If anyone has any ideas for what textures I should work on tomorrow, let me know, I am sort of keeping up the stuff in my survival world so far but its slow progress.

    32x Faithful 32x32 Pack

Thanks for the contribution. In the future, to make a pull request you fork the branch, save a local copy to your computer, and then makes your changes. Once that is done, it will give an option to send a pull request.

Hosting a server at home with 50 people.

The Core2Duo is on an entirely different, much older architecture. You can't directly compare that chip something more modern like your I7 chip which I would hazard to guess is it at least a 2600K. Also, if running a server on a single core on an I7 chip is causing TPS issues on a fresh world...

Hosting a server at home with 50 people.

I should have been more clear now that I reflect on what I wrote. The thread that the game uses for all in world logic is single threaded. Tasks like networking, audio, and rendering can be split into different threads but that can introduce issues. So for the most part, Minecraft is single...

[WARNING] [Minecraft-Server] Can't keep up! Did the...

Are you keeping Putty open between actions like sleeping your computer or switching networks? (Cable -> 3G for example) That would cause it to not respond. What's your ping like to the server? A high ping could cause issues with response times, but it shouldn't be this severe as to have nothing...

TickThreading - concurrent entity/tile entity ticks and other optimisations

Downhill or cross country? I find downhill more fun and cross country to be more relaxing.

No, a Minecraft server uses 1 core. Only time that multiple cores are used is during garbage collection which is not terribly often. 2 Haswell cores running at 4Ghz is much better than 4 or 6 running at 3Ghz. Your various sources are wrong, having a graphics card will not affect the server at...

whats the largest ftb server you been on active player wise

Holy shit man, its the internet, but you should still try some proper punctuation and capitalization. That's difficult to read. You don't need to be strict about tick lag inducing stuff unless your already experiencing it and it can't be fixed. Your server is fairly small so tick lag shouldn't...

    Resource Pack problem, plz help

    1. Are you running Optifine? Optifine causes loads of issues. 2. Are you using the latest video card drivers? Its rare, but obscure issues can sometimes be caused by outdated drivers. 3. Try F3+T at the same time while in your world. It reloads the currently used resource pack which can fix some...

    32x Faithful 32x32 Pack

The easiest way and quickest way to get something into the pack is to fork the Github repository, make your changes, then submit a pull request. You can also give me a link to the texture on any image host and I will download it, put it in the pack, and leave a note that you contributed it. The...

2 good processors won't do shit, Minecraft is limited to 1 core of one processor. Also, your going to have problems if people start doing a lot of Rotary/ReactorCraft, the bandwidth usage is significant. You should consider colocation services offered by many smaller ISP's and datacenters.

    I need a youtube/streaming partner it pays$$

LOL, I can tell just based on the Skype name your some 14 year old kid that thinks having a big Youtube channel pays big. News flash kid, it doesn't. These days, anyone can file a copyright claim on a video and make it so you get no profit for up to 90 days which is the time where 95% of the...

Server hardware discussion. Any server Owner Must Read !

Honestly the 1mbps per player thing was more of a rough estimate, I haven't bothered to do any extensive profiling of network usage on a real server for quite some time. Keep in mind if the server doesn't have a dedicated line that always gets a certain speed, you will want to account for times...

Server hardware discussion. Any server Owner Must Read !

True, but the chip I suggested is only about $40 more and has the highest clockspeed of any Haswell chip that is not unlocked. An unlocked chip would cost $100 more though, require a more expensive motherboard, and a decent cooling solution.

Server hardware discussion. Any server Owner Must Read !

Yes, even though the clockspeed is lower on the Intel chips, they are faster in single threaded tasks because of the underlying architecture. AMD doesn't really compete in terms of performance unless the task is heavily multi-threaded. MicroATX vs Full ATX makes little difference in this...

Server hardware discussion. Any server Owner Must Read !

First off, if your buy new hardware for a Minecraft server, pick an Intel processor. Minecraft is not multi-threaded and Intel has the best single thread performance right now and will for the predictable future. Second, your memory is running in dual channel mode. This means you see 800Mhz but...
