system time change, or is the server overloaded?

._. i don't know how to change the title ._.

I'm receiving this msg as soon as I start the server ._.
I'm running a modded custom version of Monster with only 2 players... The server has 16 gb of ram and a 4 core processor... I don't really remember the specs but one of the OVH servers, so it's good stuff...

Only two ppl play in the server... And we have almost no machines / automation... We have like... a 40~10 farm run by 8 pairs of golems from thaumcraft, a small AE network (just for storing stuff) and a few machines from different mods... Theres no uber automation, nor huge farms... Not even a lot of chunks loaded.

The gameplay is really smooth and lagless... But we can't send msgs to the server, like save-all or stop thru SSH / putty ._.
The server just doesn't respond ._. The whole "screen" running the server is like... Not responding, when we try to stop

And that's the only reason i'm here asking for help... I can't ask the server to save-all and stop if i want to change something ._.

Are you keeping Putty open between actions like sleeping your computer or switching networks? (Cable -> 3G for example) That would cause it to not respond.

What's your ping like to the server? A high ping could cause issues with response times, but it shouldn't be this severe as to have nothing appear at all after a few seconds.

Have you tried sending messages to the server without opening the screen session? If its an issue with the server not picking up your input but you can run scripts, that will help narrow the list of potential problems.

I'm playing with Miranda in our server (in fact I'm the other player).

What's your ping like to the server? A high ping could cause issues with response times, but it shouldn't be this severe as to have nothing appear at all after a few seconds.

My ping on the server is around 24ms with 0 pl. The computer, in reality is a VPS from OVH with the following specs:

Virtualisation 64-bit OpenVZ
CPU 4 vCores
RAM 8 GB
Hard drive 100 GB Raid 10
Bandwidth 100 Mbps

Are you keeping Putty open between actions like sleeping your computer or switching networks? (Cable -> 3G for example) That would cause it to not respond.

I don't keep Putty open in any situations, an I think Miranda doesn't as well.

Have you tried sending messages to the server without opening the screen session? If its an issue with the server not picking up your input but you can run scripts, that will help narrow the list of potential problems.

I'm going to describe the problem a bit more. The server runs without any problems with just the normal exceptions that you can see on the Log file. We got no lag at all on the server, not even when those messages appear. The command input doesn't work sometimes, and I wasn't able to identify a possible pattern for this failure (after initializing the server, even without any players online, the message appears and is repeated each 2-3 min). Sometimes, after playing some time and trying to use the save-all command, no commands are accepted anymore.

Now, answering your question. I tried to run the server without any screen and the error still appears.

I have encountered an issue in the past where my screen sessions would 'freeze', that is refuse to accept input and stop updating output from the server console, but the server process would continue running with no other detectable problems. The freezing would happen at random, with no apparent trigger.

In my case, the problem was caused by my server wrapper (remote toolkit) using JLine to take keyboard input. After setting the JLine option to false I have not encountered this issue since. It doesn't sound like you are using a server wrapper with JLine, but the symptoms sound similar.

Hum... I don't think thats the case, since the servers continues to output msgs, like "warning the server can't keep up blabla" and other stuff ._.
I just doesn't accept input...

Is there a mod out there that just... Like... Auto save the world every hours or so? And warn the players it's going to save? And maybe... Stop the server after 24~48 hours? .-.

I tried doing it with a script, but again... Since the server isn't accepting inputs it doesn't work

Found it!

The other player maanged to code not one... Not two... But eight glitchy turtles... I don't how or what he did, but he managed to code 8 turtles to drop our server on it's knees ._.
Anyway... He fixed the (poorly written code) and everything is good :D
So I'm marking this as SOLVED.

How long has the server typically been running for when you notice this problem appearing?

I see a lot of messages "Unknown command. Try /help for a list of commands" in your server.log, is it possible you are typing in "/save-all" or "/stop" to the console instead of "save-all" or "stop"?

Can you also show us the script you are using to send commands to the server?

EDIT: aha glad to see you found the issue.

EDIT: never mind it seems that it is only Bukkit and MCPC+ servers that are picky about not allowing the forward slash to enter commands into the console.
