How you are getting 60FPS in the first place when your graphics cards is missing what are considered basic functions escapes me entirely. What processor and motherboard do you have? There are plenty of low end graphics cards you could buy that would help you out a ton.

It might be able to do it. One of my spare laptops is about 15% faster and its staying under 30ms per tick for 2 people with mid-game setups. Make sure you have FastCraft, that helped a ton on both the clients and server.

Knowing Gregtech's texture system, its likely that it has its own copy of the base textures then applies a color filter on top rather than pulling from /assets/minecraft

Should be fixed now, forgot to add the animation control file which causes the texture to not display if not included.

It would be exactly the same. In fact, doing the server setup yourself instead of just running the downloaded package is better because it helps you remember to keep your Forge version updated.

There are several factors asides from this. What kind of upload speed does your home internet connection have? Will the server be running FastCraft? What view distance is the server set to? I would hesitantly say 5 people without knowing any of the other information.

I slightly disagree. For home servers, the most efficient chip makes sense. Its likely to be a small server requiring less performance and the power bill matters. For server hosts like your employer(or maybe you own the company, fuck if I know), the Xeon chips make sense because you have cheap...

I just picked the MSI motherboard because it was the cheapest Z97 board available. The Western Digital was just brand preference, although all the drives I have had from both companies have yet to die. I tend to replace them within 5 years though.
