If you have the materials for it, i would honestly recommend using a Monster Spawner with Endermen soul and some diamond spike. That will net you all 3 types of Endermen head randomly without the hassle of having to kill them.

Are you using The Ender? Adding Looting III to it will also heavily up your chance of receiving the head.

Actually, (from my experience so far) most crop (IC2 & GT crops mind you) do not require any lighting level to grow. They will grow in light and/or darkness. Exept for the two exeption stated above (Redwheat & Blackthorn)

Have you tried outputing from within the chunk just for testing purposes? Other than that, it might have been that you were just far enough to unload that one chunk next to your EBF for a shirt time and it didn't output at that very moment.

Just curious... - Were you in SSP or SMP? - How many Chunk were loaded at once? Reason i ask is because personally, i've never had problem using Dimension Anchors.

You could use Railcraft World Anchor (which cost Ender Pearl to run) or alternatively a Dimensional Anchor which let you choose the ammount of chunk to load (with a max of 9x9) and cost fuel (specifics which can be modified in Configs) to load chunk.

Iridium can be found in said dimensions. It is simply very rare.

Keep in mind that you can transfer power to the output machine if connected directly when using item/type filter & chest buffer machines.
