    Extending Early GamePlay

Bronze is borked as a balance feature in most mods as it is, which is a shame because in history the bronze age comes before the iron age. Iron can only be extracted from the ore at high enough temperatures that people were limited to using an alloy of copper and usually tin -> bronze. Tin...

I don't know what to think about the whole concept of money in these things. For me personally I would feel extremely obligated to continuously produce more content if I had even a small chance to make money off of it from something like Patreon. Might take the fun out of it. And I'd feel guilty...

Simple Modding Help Thread (Ask a Simple Question Get a Simple Answer Forge & Java Edition)

hmmm, what sort of packet handling to containers need to update what is happening in them when multiple people are accessing it on a server (1.7.10). That's simple right ;)

    Good liquid fuel

The real question here is: do renewable energy sources provide more gameplay? :P

    EnderIO wires over Thermal Expansion

You aren't losing power at all with either as in per-block power loss or anything. The enderIO ones give you more control but have a slightly larger game performance overhead.

Anything that is extremely "involved" would then be a change that continues to affect during the entire game. You will continue to process animal bodies on the cutting table through-out the entire game, and you will continue to need a valid tool for block breaking throughout the entire game...

It would be hard to give worldgen that sort of contition for spawning, it might work not sure. I like the concept, copper and tin could drop copper mineral rich rubble when smashed with the hammer/bludgeon and it would have low durability to encourage surface exploration for copper and tin. So...

All this thought about smelting and furnace recipes really makes me wonder why they never added different processing times for the various furnace recipes. Baking a loaf of bread honestly shouldn't take as much time as melting ore down... It would be cool to make an oven that fetches furnace...

    Extending Early GamePlay

I know I always get the smeltery too fast for my liking. Here would be my idea for smelteries: Tier one: Limited to one block high No lava mechanic. The base blocks (3x3) would be different than basic grout bricks, maybe hollow grout bricks or something the reason being: You need to fill the...

I *may* consider legit compatibility but not an addon.

Implementing worldgen isn't to terrible difficult once you have it down, and it isn't fairly game-resource intensive if you do really simple conditionals and few calculations. The idea of scavenging does need to be a thing though, before you can till the ground or process meat you need a source...

    Extending Early GamePlay

There will be food, berries that spawn in the world, wild vegetables and stuff like that. Simple to grow food that don't need tilled soil but won't provide all that much sustainance.

Keeping the tool recipes in but changing how the tools makes sense. It breaks some of the immersion but that's just something I'll get over :p I'll give them a tooltip saying they're just for decoration or something. I would really like to revamp farming mob drops, one thing to consider is that...

    Extending Early GamePlay

I am not modifying any other mods at all. Or even really trying to balance against them. The only recipes I am doing anything to is stone and wood tools and I am removing them. I will likely add a config option to keep the recipes in but make the tools themselves completely useless. I do know...

Progression concept: You need to find clay before you can make iron tools as it will provide your very first source of iron. In the real world clay has a bunch of minerals in it that may include aluminium, iron and various cations so now a clay block will have a chance to drop a lump of mineral...

    Extending Early GamePlay

New design concept: Rocks that spawn on the ground like the currently implemented flint that you can pick up. These rocks can be thrown like snowballs at mobs as early game defense and attack or if you are lucky enough to get a sizeable one you can make your first pummel for crushing stone. The...

Not sure what you mean by circumvent... I am totally OK with people exploring the world to get what they need, in fact that is what I encourage. Because I gate pretty much all early game crafting, people can look out in the world for things they need or they can use the tools I provide. Without...

github.... hmm, I run the risk of having my code featured on codecrap but I guess that's going to be a risk I am willing to take ;). I'll clean some stuff up and get something set up. As a note for said Open-Sourcing, it is mostly because I encourage help and constructive criticism and believe...

    Extending Early GamePlay

Ok, I am working on a mod that will extend the early stages of the game for those of us who like slower progression. This is happening from the spawn of the world and I will continue to tinker with things that will affect later and later stages. I want to gate certain aspects of the game behind...
