    I don't think it's that big of a deal. Picks boost so quickly and TiC tools are almost invincible. I'd reserve judgment till it's play tested.

    Creeper's don't explode randomly. I've tested it. I'm not sure they ever did honestly. They need to be triggered by something. Usually it's a block on the mob griefing list I have updated the materials spreadsheet for those interested.

    We haven't had too much of an issue on the ground on the dev build. Though it wasn't full 1.1.0 and we didn't encounter a portal yet. But I bet it will still be possible with carefully constructed defenses.

    Disabling dynamic lighting and making it bright does not correct for these "advantages". It makes them irrelevant by making it always easy to see.

    That's the way I see it. Making a mob farm is a trivial task only requiring a dark room and (water/pistons/conveyor belts). The real advantage to getting a zombie/skelly spawner is the lack of creepers.
