its now complaining about an item in your hot bar failing to render. delete the file "<world Name>\players\YOUR_NAME.dat" this will reset your players inventory, level and location! (you will basically re-join the server as a new player)

one of the files in <WORLD NAME>\EnderStorage is probably corrupt. rename them and then restart the game/server

you can try going into the advanced options page of the settings tab in the launcher and setting "download Location" to the place that's closest to you and try again. this apparently has solved connection issues for some players.

you can also do it on the machine your trying to use refined iron to make. it will show you an alternate crafting recipe if one is available. having just downloaded techworld2 to test this though, i see refined iron is there, but that its also listed in the ore dictionary with vanilla iron...

in NEI, you can press R to enter recipe mode. it will show you how items are crafted, while pressing U will show you what the item can be used for
