You have a really old version of Java still installed and for some reason the launcher is preferring it and using it. Uninstall that version.

Try reinstalling Java 7u45. It might take if it sees it is was the last version installed.

Not sure about the gl error, but I've seen this error before from users using beta ATI drivers. If you are using beta drivers, and even if you are not, go back to either non beta drivers or the previous version. Then post a console log of the gl error when you get it please.

Do you really need to run all those out-of date versions and any 32bit? Try uninstalling all Java, restart your computer. Then install only Java 7u45 64bit.

That error has only one known problem and solution. That is to delete all older versions of Java and all 32bit versions. You should only have one 64bit version and no 32bit version. Check the control panel and delete all, but Java 7u45.

Is the MacBook pro 64bit? If so then install the latest 64bit Java, at the moment that is Java 7 update 45, then allocate more than 1GB in the launcher. Tell her to wait for the download to complete. These mod packs take a while to download and install. Especially if you are on a slow connection. Have her leave it on over night. In other words press the launch button and go to sleep.

Welcome. Is there any crash log saved in your mod pack folder? Without a cause we can only assume and I do not like doing that. Might I suggest a one thing to try before you give the log. Dust out your computer to ensure it is not over heating.

You have both the 32bit and 64bit version of Java you only need the 64bit version. Also where do you have the launcher and are installing the mod packs?

Please do not bump. You need to delete the config in the path listed. You might want to backup your saves and configs to be safe though deleting that config should be safe without a backup.
