I would suggest Unleashed or Resonant Rise for 1.5.2. If you want the bleeding-edge technology, you could go with 7-Mod Ultimate, the clearly superior choice, housing Steve's Carts, Iron Chests, IC2, and many four more mods!

Actually, if you're going to put the showcases on the wiki, this mod would indirectly connect with WikiLink quite well.

Doubtful. When you look for a recipe in NEI it searches every recipe to find the right one. Having a mod display a small picture overlay on your screen shouldn't take that long, and once you do it once it'll be loaded into the RAM and it won't take as long the next time.

It would be useful. Actually, you could make a mod that lets you press a key while hovering over an item on NEI and have it show you that item's showcase, if it has one. That would be more useful, since people will probably be scrolling through the list of items and blocks in NEI and they'll...

IIRC it's from open blocks, and it's a rare drop from all mobs. If you place it, it'll turn into a small trophy with a random mob on top.
