I just found this yesterday. Open Broadcasting Software (The most generic of all names possible) is for streaming, but you should be able to set it up so that it saves the video in a folder and doesn't actually stream to your real account.

The problem with that is, with such a high focus on lava for the energy generators, there's no real point in using any other method, since lava is the most abundant liquid in the game once you get a nether portal.

Are you using Optifine and MPS? I know Optifine and MPS don't get along with how text is rendered.
