Sieve gravel for the most metals. Sieve dust for glowstone and redstone. Sieving sand is mostly just for ancient spores. You can also use a pulverizer to make gravel/sand/dust in the same manner as the hammer.
Yes SFM is capable of placing items correctly into barrels without a whitelist.
You actually don't even need two. If you have a drain -> fluiduct for every metal type and can ensure that it won't backlog the fluiducts can pull the metal out before it alloys. At least IIRC.
Which part? Both are pretty easy in vanilla imo...
Kill the wither with a cobble suffocating spot in some bedrock.
Pretty sure you can make an semi-automatic wither skele farm in a nether fort in vanilla as well. Been awhile since I did vanilla though so I can't be sure.
Yeah it definitely causes extreme pressure when generating new towns.
If you'd like to see a pack with it, why not make one? There is a list of mod permissions for modpacks private or public here...
If you manage to fully level an excavator more than likely you can make it unbreaking(reinforced 10 = tool can't break ever) and it'll have 15-25 speed. That'd make quick work of such a small amount of dust.
2x2x3-10 with trapdoors on top, lava or some such at the bottom. Add tripwires if you're feeling frisky. Always my backup OP solution when the game gives me a mob that rolled a 20 on a D-12.
Essentials also does it but in a way that allows OPs to open them. If anything it being from vanilla means all you'd need to do is hook into an already made method. Either way it should be possible.
#2 in the solutions is overkill but could also cause problems. I know when I doubled down on blacklist/whitelisting I ran into a few issues. Better off emptying the blacklist.
Feeding it mob essence as well will make it drastically more efficient.
Best way to make sorting easier is streamlining it all. Have a (diamond)chest as a default dump for basically anything and use it as the universal sorting chest. Run the sorting on its own timer that just never stops...
