    ReactorCraft - clever reactor setups?

Hmmmmmmmm... That's an interesting observation. To the test chamber! Same results. First law of thermal dynamics. That's easy enough, and I hate to keep banging on about it, but what I'm struggling with is the inconsistency with the description in the change log and the observed ΔT. The entry...

    ReactorCraft - clever reactor setups?

[edit] ^I thought I broke that sumbich! :p [edit2] Radiation makes aura nodes spam taint? LOL! Another excellent reason to not let a reactor get away from you in a live SMP environment! XD As I said in my earlier posts, the fins don't stabilize the temperature below 1000C, even with two fans...

    ReactorCraft - clever reactor setups?

Here is my set up: Any thoughts what I might be doing wrong? Radiation-poisoned terrain, HP Turbine block spam, and assorted craters are from when my first and subsequent PJFs went kablooey - the first one took out my breeder reactor and the next ones spread radiation, because explosions! :p...

    ReactorCraft - clever reactor setups?

The pulse jet furnace is supplied with oxygen and 524KW power (1nm*rad/s). The temperature is not climbing above 873C in a plains biome (30C ambient) and I'm stumped. :P

    ReactorCraft - clever reactor setups?

You need to first separate heavy water from normal water using the heavy water extractor. You can then pass the heavy water in to the electrolyzer and produce two units of deuterium and one unit of oxygen. It's a very slow process. Note that heavy water is not the same thing as regular water. I...

    ReactorCraft - clever reactor setups?

Nice! I hadn't connected the dots in that manner before, thinking that "pipes" don't normally connect to the steam lines. But another question, if you please: I'm trying to boost my HSLA production to meet the demands of my survival build projects, particularly where it comes to ReC. But I'm...

    ReactorCraft - clever reactor setups?

The pipe pump connects to steam lines? Does that mean, for example, if I want to reroute some errant sections of steam line, I can pump out the excess steam into another section of pipe and thus preserve that steam rather than losing the portions we'd normally "delete" by breaking them?

Mod Feedback [By Request] RotaryCraft Suggestions

I mean, I get that, but... just... why? Suggesting that our machines fail catastrophically and calling it an easter egg accomplishes what, exactly? 911 reference or not, I know I wouldn't "enjoy" it one bit. Instead, I'd be rather pissed! Maybe it's because I'm new here, maybe I haven't seen a...

    ReactorCraft Fission Reactor Designs

In other news, I've been tinkering with breeder reactors (a 9-core 3x3 test reactor to be precise). I'm quite surprised by the rate and amount of radioactive waste production. It has filled a volume in mere minutes that took a similarly sized LWR fission reactor hours to produce (I don't have...

Binding is currently bugged, isn't it?

^ You could (should) add as many buff power and duration modifiers as you can fit/afford to cast as, on their own, heal will only grant you one heart and regen won't last long enough to be of any benefit whatsoever. With three buff power modifiers, heal grants you very nearly a full health bar's...

    ReactorCraft Fission Reactor Designs

That's fair enough. Final question then: In the future, do you envision a use for chlorine such that I would have a reason to stockpile it? Or is it safe to dump for all intents and purposes?

    ReactorCraft Fission Reactor Designs

Did the suggested industrial uses for chlorine gas (circuit boards, etc.) fall outside the scope of your mods? I haven't progressed enough yet to crack open ElC, but using chlorine in circuit/wafer board construction seemed like a good one. From what I've read, and as a brief refresher; along...

    ReactorCraft Fission Reactor Designs

Is there any use for chlorine gas at this point? I apologize is this has turned up elsewhere, but once again I've searched high and low and have not found any recommendations other than, "Just dump it." I saw some community suggestions toward making it a component in circuit board production...

    ReactorCraft Fission Reactor Designs

That's good to know! Part of the reason for wanting to know what the rate of consumption was, however, had to do with selecting appropriate fluid conduits with which to supply the HP-Turbine(s), most of which have a maximum throughput. Obviously, given what we know from experimentation and...

That would certainly be consistent with my experimental results. Thanks for the input!

    ReactorCraft Fission Reactor Designs

Hmmmm... I had not considered the difficulty setting at the time when I did this but my test world was set to normal peaceful and RoC was set to 2. Any idea how much this will skew the results? .... I think. I know I messed with the difficulty in order to address certain problems in other tests...

    ReactorCraft Fission Reactor Designs

I'll be the first to admit that my Googlefu isn't the best there is, but at the same time it's not too shabby either. I've searched high and low for information regarding the rate of consumption for HP-Turbines and haven't come up with anything concrete. There was this comment that I saw...

Mod Feedback [By Request] RotaryCraft Suggestions

This was a feature suggestion, merely a visual overview of the temperature of RC/ReC blocks near the player, rather than an appeal to any specific and immediate need. But thanks anyway! :) (But, yes, the mod you're talking about is WAILA - What Am I Looking At)
