    CraftPackets are back in BuildCraft 7.0.2+ (with slight changes - in the Silicon module, so you can just have Core+Silicon), and routers are restored by Router Reborn.

    To be honest, I would have preferred fuel-only drills as a way to make the mod a bit more varied in terms of what you need, but hey, I guess it's your mod.

    Or you could just make a few tiers of chipset-based drills. Generally, fancy tools like this IMO would work fine in a post-laser setup, not pre-laser.

    Arbitrary single-number-based power systems - so MJ, RF, FZ Charge, possibly EU in an output-only manner (input-only would require passing voltage). Think of it as a more stable Enetbridge, just off by default.

    I am slowly working on making BuildCraft energy pipes support arbitrary energy systems, implemented via BuildCraftCompat (or future compat mods).

    I think including higher-tier pipes so other mods can use them is reasonable. BuildCraft can produce up to 300 RF/t per input pipe at best, but we have an input pipe which takes in up to 2560 RF/t for that exact reason.

    No. No it wouldn't. The community would be split into the paid mods with highly detailed graphics but zero gameplay value made for 12-year-olds with too much money and free mods with much slower development but tons of gameplay value and devs who love the craft in the pattern you've described.

    RP ducts were a network pipe system, and bouncing items create infinitely more lag than an item dying after a minute post-dropped-out. I know as that's how I brought my own server down to its knees in 5 minutes. (Also, liquids can no longer mix in one pipe.)

    Developer shortage. Also, BC pipe items do NOT KNOW WHAT WAY THEY CAME FROM, and they never will - it is not a network. Also, the fluid issues were generally fixed, though the fluid pipes are undergoing an algorithm rewrite anyway.
