    Mining.

A quarry placed over ocean/water. Automatically deals with any lava, doesnt leave huge holes in the middle of the world, doesn't leave big pits with haphazardly placed water that can cause epic lag when the one or two blocks feeding the entire thing are removed. Just build frames over the...

System configurations that work best with minecraft ?

Not present in Optifine for 1.64 . That would be too easy -.- Before this thread derails, my problem is not the issue here, it pretty much can't be fixed - apparently I'd be much more interested in hearing how much GPU usage you are seeing with which graphics card.

System configurations that work best with minecraft ?

Been reading similar statements all over the net. Problem is, you can add all java and ftb related programs to catalyst and it changes nothing. So this is 2:0 for Nvidia. It simply does not work at all for my AMD card. Gonna try optifine later. But it makes ftb glitchy. Edit: Yeah, predictable...

System configurations that work best with minecraft ?

Long story short: My GTX 285 burned out. Bought that thing used for 50 bucks, no problem, same procedure, got a used HD 6950 for 60 bucks. Nice. Faster, more Ram, less power than the monster that is called GTX285.This computer uses a Motherboard from 2006 and i can play Bioshock Infinite on...

How do YOU use up large amounts of energy?

I would never claim that your changes made Rotarycraft/Reactorcraft worse. They probably balanced it reasonably well. Yes, and it makes RF unviable, which is pointless since big reactors are boring and lame for anything above 5-10kRf and their turbines totally suck. I tried powering...

How do YOU use up large amounts of energy?

Making assumptions, are we? The only thing i mentioned as op - is the HTGR. A generic x10 increase in power ratio on the other hand - It makes every other power generation mod useless, it makes the power use of any non extreme RedstoneFlux or compatible/convertible (MJ, EU) machinery...

How do YOU use up large amounts of energy?

And why ? Reactorcraft was already op in v23(actually 23 is the Rotarycraft version going with it)...why make it factor 10 more op.Actually perhaps only like factor 3 or something because reactor cores were definitely nerfed. In V23 2 HTGRs can run a turbine, which is a bit creepy, since a real...

Magic vs Tech Round 1- what's your preference.

But they are really laggy. Not sure why, but buildcraft pipes cause less lag.

Big Reactors : Smallest self sustaining?

Nahh, crafting 64 is but little more work than crafting one. You do need a lot of gold and redstone, though

How do YOU use up large amounts of energy?

The thought had crossed my mind.....but still not decided. It IS the fastest method - but insanely inefficient. I may set up one for private use, but 10 induction furnaces for the main ore line would be more efficient. Id rather have 750rf/t constant load on my system than some nutty 22k/tick...

Big Reactors : Smallest self sustaining?

Had the same problems. If you have ExtraUtilities - use fluid transfer node(= ExtraUtilities Pump) and transfer pipes. Add speed upgrades to the transfer node until it keeps up. I am currently in the process of replacing a lot of TE ductwork with EU transfer systems. Faster and seemingly less laggy.

How do YOU use up large amounts of energy?

Lmao. This is getting crazy - real fast. We need an Energy -> Antimatter converter. And starship enterprise to use that for something productive other than big xplosions. I just *had* to tear down 90% of the machinery in our main building because i decided that it was messy, very lag inducing...

    Glowstone Shortage

A bit of a bigger setup - but very functional: Some advanced power source feeding a MFR Laser Drill. Will give you most of the ores in the world gen ore list - including, unless the pack has it disabled, i suppose - glowstone blocks, diamond ore blocks, corbalt ore, ardite ore, uranium ore, etc...

How do YOU use up large amounts of energy?

Found one - MFR Oil fabricators. Uses a lot of energy, not sure how much, almost seems as if it simply uses as much as it can get. On a redstone energy conduit it can keep up with and outproduce 3 buildcraft refineries. Not sure why i would need that, i still have 20 drums of oil from a well...

Big Reactors : Smallest self sustaining?

I just set up an HTGR and its looking very good so far. I bet i could have just filled the big power plant building with one enormous big reactor, but it would provide less power than 170k , unless you overheat it to the max, and be really lame and boring. Disclaimer: I am running 1.6.4. and...

    Balance or Tedium

I absolutely agree with you. It's the reason i refuse to update rotarycraft to newer versions.

Big Reactors : Smallest self sustaining?

Or just add rotarycraft and reactorcraft and build a proper nuclear plant that is somewhat realistic and puts out more power than you will ever need ;-) While we are at adding mods ;-)

How do YOU use up large amounts of energy?

Wahahahahaha, that is so overkill, i love it. 15 x 11.5k = 172,000 Okay, you need roughly one turbo generator on a regular water vapor turbine. In other words, my base could power that. Total generating Capacity around 200,000. I have one extractor running on 6000/tick with a Computer...

How do YOU use up large amounts of energy?

I got to wonder. Small introduction to my thoughts... 500 rf/tick powers a quarry. 20,000/tick a full mfr mining laser. Those are comfortable amounts for big reactors or other setups. Then we get to Rotarycraft. One magnetostatic at 64MW uses about 12 k/rf per tick. One turbo generator...
