The link she gave you wont of worked because apple disabled it in xprotect, You can go threw a load of extra stuff to try to get it to work but it can be 50 - 50 so, it is easier to follow this tutorial I made which should work (it worked for me anyway)...

I know why it's not working properly, apple stopped java 6 from working on your computer, you can disable it but it can be risky as you have the chance of getting a virus from new virus, I will write a tutorial but do it at your own risk.
