I like that one. I never really liked how a lot of Xycoridite blocks looks with a bunch together, they look cool alone and are nice for here and there, but used as the only material for a surface it always looked so... But that's probably just me. Maybe just use the Xychridite as a frame...

Its a vanilla cheat command, just type it into the chat if you have cheats on. Once you change a gamerule, it stays like that in that world until you change it yourself, even after exiting the world.

Are you by any chance moving the FTB folder into/ out to other folders? That tends to mess with it for some reason making it create another copy of the folder where the old one used to be.

That kinda depends of the size of the nodes, smaller nodes need to be closer to start merging, while larger nodes have a stronger pull, its kinda like they had a sort of (magical) gravitation field.
