Are newer packs harder on PCs than older ones? When i played FTB Ultimate in 1.4.7, I would get about 25 FPS on my laptop. No 3d video card, built in video RAM, etc. I would drop to below 10 in my base full of gregtech stuff, huge AE system, etc. Now, standing in a brand new world in 1.6...

Is there any reason to use Extra Utilities spikes in a mob trap vs just quicksand? Im just making a simple darkroom as I cant afford MFR grinders yet. I have quicksand to kill the mobs, then conveyors to move the drops to a hopper. Would Spikes net me anything more than normal drops?

I haven't set it up yet but RC chunkloaders let you set time they run per unit of fuel and let's you set the ID of the item to be used as fuel. So you could make them run 12 hours on a block of coal coke if you wanted. This mfr one does seem handy though.

I see it much simpler: gregtech is the only mod that offers big goals. Ultimate offered people a way to obtain those without the huge grind that you get with just ic2 and gregtech. Turtles, EE3, soul shards... its much easier to run an implosion compressor when you can anvil together some...

Since you have to make more farm bricks is it really cheaper? I guess it means two square farms = 3 diamond shaped farms so it saves you making an extra middle section. Is this what you mean?
