Ive been running into issues with my witchery saplings. It seems that the alder wood saplings I burn in a witches oven are giving me reek (it ryhmes with meek) of misfortune instead of odours of purity and my hawthornes give me purity instead of misfortune. This is opposite of what NEI is...

If you are near an ocean biome, your beehouse's/apiary's should work with your milder climate bees.

Sorry, my bad. The problem I had was from my boiler i had only one pipe coming out to feed my engine. I wasn't producing enough energy until I connected 4 pipes to the boiler and sent 4 times the steam to the engines. Only then did it start producing the advertised power. Sounds like yours...

How many pipes do you have coming out of them? I think you need 4 pipes from the industrial?

If you can get a ring of Chordata and the diving helm you can swim super fast with unlimited range underwater vision.

I actually got most of my wool from spiders, kill spider DP quest, and the string DP quest. It is 32 string, but a good hunting/exploration trip should give you both string drops, string rewards, and the dark power to get more string.

And of course lets not forget the AOE dig spell you get as a reward from one of the dark power quests. I think it is just like the TiCon Hammer in that it mines a 3x3 on the plane you touch. Ive been using that for mass digs and then using the fortune dig spell to mine gems and dusts.

i had a number of pigs and sheeps near spawn but they all despawned. I did happen upon one lone sheep i had to tunnel to get to who was hanging on a rock at the edge of a lava pool. I rescued it and brought it home, sheared it for the wool needed to make the cascading colorer and bam, sheep...

I wonder if that includes the floating versions of passive flowers.
