Seems a bit pretentious to me.I have nothing against Yogscast fans. I've got something against people who act like immature children (I don't care what age they ACTUALLY are). Unfortunately, these types of people are generally associated with the Yogscast. I know several people on this forum would consider themselves Yognau(gh)ts and they are perfectly mature. And there are a number of rather immature people here too. I just think that with that large influx of people, it might be a bit to much for the forum mods to handle. Come to think of it... I don't actually think CreeperHost would like that much either...
EDIT: LOL
I can just imagine them saying "We swapped to FTB, its basically tekkit" or something....
Ugh
And the influx of annoying 12-year-olds would be ridiculous.
If they want to play their "illegal" (no flaming please xD) modpack then let them, we have the Mindcrack team and of course Direwolf20!
Mindcrack are a thousand times more interesting, entertaining and awesome than the Yogscast.
Funny, I generally associate those types of people with the "OMG TEKKIT IS ILLEGUL" crowd.I've got something against people who act like immature children (I don't care what age they ACTUALLY are). Unfortunately, these types of people are generally associated with the Yogscast.
Oh look, there's one.I can just imagine them saying "We swapped to FTB, its basically tekkit" or something....

I totally agree if it had not been for Duncan I wouldn't of even know what a mod was , in actual fact it was the yogscast that introduced me to minecraft in the first placeEDIT: I feel like talking on topic. I think the Yogscast playing FTB would bring a large number of people to FTB also, and the bigger the better, amirite? I would never have played Tekkit if it wasn't for Duncan and his Tekkit series.
I'm not saying that the FTB crowd is flawless. Technic have plenty of good people too. I watch the Yogscast myself sometimes and half the comments there are a war between Technic and FTB.Funny, I generally associate those types of people with the "OMG TEKKIT IS ILLEGUL" crowd.
One of my friends referred me to Duncan's Tekkit series and from that I found out about this wonderful new side of Minecraft. The Yogscast are great at what they do, there is no doubting that.I totally agree if it had not been for Duncan I wouldn't of even know what a mod was , in actual fact it was the yogscast that introduced me to minecraft in the first place
Oi, get out of our megathread! Shoo! Cool people only!Man the more I participate in minecraft forums the more my view of the minecraft community changes. All the people I've played with are nothing like what I'm seeing in this thread and on that link to the tekkit forums. Never thought minecraft people were so exclusive and unwelcoming.
I actually think modpacks in general will be dying off soon. Once FTB has a monopoly on quite a few of these mods, it will be the only large modpack. However, without competition the quality control will go down. Only a matter of time before FTB falls from its shakey foundation ofangrymod authors.
Shame really, I enjoy playing FTB so much.
You mean something like this? beta.technicpack.netI would spell the doom of FTB the moment a modpack/launcher comes with a proper functionality for custom modded servers. This is a very major feature that isn't difficult to implement, I have no idea why the FTB team hasn't gotten around to it yet. Objectively speaking, and ignoring all the internet drama, the only thing really differentiating FTB from Tekkit is a different selection of mods (which a proper launcher would leave up to the server owner), and promises of frequent updates. The moment a launcher comes that allows server admins to choose whichever mods they want and update them as soon an update is available, there will be little point in FTB existing anymore, other than as a pack for the FTB map itself.
they dont have Optifine's[DOUBLEPOST=1361761230][/DOUBLEPOST]The self righteous, ignorant, judgmental and miss informed people on these forums amaze me. The yogscast would do wonders for the FTB pack... Stop being so selfish people.
Tekkit has all permissions, Yogscast have being modding minecraft for a very long time and know more about the history of tekkit and FTB than you will ever know. Judging their fan base as annoying 12 years olds is offensive and missinformed and makes me laugh when it is embedded in a post like this which reads like it was written by a teenager. I very much enjoy the yogscast and look forward to them coming to FTB. Saying they are better than Mindcrack or DW20 is comparing apples to oranges, yogscast are comedians, DW20/mindcrack are serious LPers.
i know how you feel, now adays its mainly me yelling at them rather them yelling at me, lolTekkit with Duncan was interesting right up until I became more knowledgable about tekkit than Duncan...
I don't generally like defending Technic (like ever), but Optifine is unique in that no modpack has permission to use it, but they haven't said anything to any modpacks telling them to stop using it (as far as I know).they dont have Optifine's
fair enoughI don't generally like defending Technic (like ever), but Optifine is unique in that no modpack has permission to use it, but they haven't said anything to any modpacks telling them to stop using it (as far as I know).
Technic have the right idea, just not very well executed. From what I can see, people's launchers will be VERY cluttered. Also, as I know this means a lot to people, their permissions system is.... less than stellar. You mean something like this? beta.technicpack.net
Yes, Tekkit Lite has permissions, end of story. Although I certainly do not like the way Technic Platform is shaping up as I have pointed out. There's also the fact that Optifine and Mo Creatures aren't in Tekkit Lite or the 1.4.7 version if Technic. And I highly doubt they're going to go back and remove them from old versions.
