I built a giant hammer-shaped witch grinder with an oak wood handle on top of a volcano.

I also exported barrels and barrels of wood to some guy who is building a really, really big tree by hand.

Of course, you've got to run your Railcraft blast furnace on charcoal.

And your generators.

And, well, it's a Steve's Carts tree farm so who needs those solar engines?

Oh, gee, let's mass-produce untreated frames and chuck them in alvearies.

Then I sort of gave up and made the wood enderchest public.

... I'm still voiding excess charcoal.

I'm keeping things tight, I only produce enough charcoal to keep my cart's enhine stocked and my AE network toggles my treefarm on and off by controlling the tesseract using level emitter and an iron gate to maintain a stock of 4096 logs.

Apart from deletion, recyclers for scrap seems the best choice. I don't know how fast one recycler is with a stack of 64 overclockers (assuming no GT hardmode like I utilize, but can always make more machines easily enough) but it should tear into your wood (shuffled into planks first unless it's actually THAT overloaded) and even if you aren't going for UUM, you can shred the scrap into boxes and then unbox for random other bits and DEVOUR anything you could possibly produce, due to the terrible conversion ratio of making scrap > boxes > unboxing randoms. And if you are going for UUM, well you have a great booster in scrap boxes.

A problem of your own creation can be solved with abusing your own supply. :p

Run the wood through a sawmill
Craft sticks with the planks
Run the sticks through the sawmill again
Craft the dust into tiny dust.
Put the tiny dust in a recycler.[DOUBLEPOST=1366910003][/DOUBLEPOST]

1 item a tick, same as 10 overclockers.

I guess boilers would be the obvious answer, but i've heard that the heat value of wood has been severely nerfed in 1.5, so I don't know whether or not its still worth doing.

Due to the unanticipated success of my SC tree farm, i too was plagued by the horrors of WOOD-ITIS(tm).
My solution was to pipe it all into a machine that worked as follows:

Input --> top & bottom slots of an iron furnace --> sixteen IC2 generators --> Mass fab

Behold the dirtiest system ever. It used half my wood surplus in a day to make two and a quarter stacks of UU with no scrap whatsoever.

Wow, burning the wood into steam boilers! You are a genius! I'll burn the wood and the charcoal into them! We were producing our MJ from biofuel, but now we can produce even more EU! Thank you sir! Gladly I posted this on the forums!

I'm thinking about making those charcoal blocks and building a mage tower out of it. Maybe find one of those desert pyramids with the huge aura node and replace the pyramid with a dark tower so I can make all my minions to serve me. It will require a lot of charcoal to make.. :)

I never built a fully automated tree farm out of fear of having too god damn much wood. I would suggest if you have a lot of wood to first make sure they're logs, then make a massive amount of arcane wood blocks. Why? They look nice, and you can't automate the process so you'll either god mad from all the tedium or realize too late that you've drained all the Vis from your world before you get through all your wood.

I would suggest finding a way to turn wood into a GregTech block of some kind(the storage ones I mean) because then you'll be able to build a massive roadway out of it and mobs won't spawn on it. I suppose some kind of carbon based block would be possible, so it'll likely be a bit dark.

Charcoal blocks may be nice, but I can't imagine making a building out of them. Maybe they should be used as flooring in basalt houses; they have a nice tile-esque look.

No, I was not. I have forgotten how boilers can produce tons of steam, I don't use Railcraft often.
Yeah, to be fair, I've just been reading about a lot of people's power setups lately, so I take boilers for granted. Also, people rarely sound that genuine on the forums unless they're really angry or sarcastic. Cheers.
