That's great. But why can't you appreciate the work being done on the official wiki?
Anything I've seen done on the official wiki is a copy/paste of something from the unofficial wikis. 95 percent of the pages introduced are blank. Not hating, just stating facts.

100 percent copy/pasted from the mod's wiki, or 100 percent original from your testing?

*edit, sorry my testing and my own words or something to that effect?

From what I remember Jaded saying, your posts must be original, not copied from another source.

IDK, I'm Tech Support, not Wiki Team :p

Well, no offense to you or to anyone else handy work, but the official wiki should be the first place to go as a great centralized reference, and we should feed in wiki info from the mod wikis as they are updated. That being said, tbh for what it is, its the last place for me to look. Maybe even ask in the general board what people want to know or start with so that it gets used and receives feedback.

I feel like you should spend more time searching the forums prior to forming your opinions on the way things are working.

Why would I go to news when I want to investigate about helping with the wiki when there is a wiki forum?

Because you should check FTB news every so often to know what significant changes have been made, are planned, or what openings there are.
Or check the News tab of your launcher. It shows the threads there.

Good to know thank you. That wasn't readily apparent. Anyway, looking over the requirements of wiki participation, yeah... I don't think they will be impressed with my qualifications lol. Lets see what happens.

No need. It's a safe bet that if it has been posted, one or more of us have read it or are about to read it. That said, they're just engaging in playful banter that's topical to at least what the thread title is advertising this as. Nothing in particular to worry about.

If the topic has moved on, you'll definitely want to change the title. It helps to ensure you have people dropping by who are wanting to talk about what you're actually wanting to discuss. People who have followed my post history (you poor things) know that I have a habit of picking apart thread title diction when I'm particularly cheerful. The thread title is in fact the sign on the door to people entering the room, so you should make sure folks know what room they're entering here.

As for my recommendation on a modpack to "replace" Mindcrack: Either Unleashed or Direwolf20 version 1.1.3 or later and drop in GregTech. If you opt for Unleashed I would recommend disabling DartCraft as well. I would personally disable one or the other MFFS mod as well as some other tweaks, but I won't overburden you with complication like that.

OK, thanks! You'll notice the original post has been edited to reflect my new direction. I take it I don't need to ask you to step in and stop anyone who would continue the wiki discussion here instead of moving it to another thread as I have asked for, hopefully the people on these forums have some common sense about when to stop posting OT material in a thread that's changed. :)

Cheers ...

and yet.... it has no information and for some reason its even an official wiki.[DOUBLEPOST=1378832554][/DOUBLEPOST]
less implies any...
Have you ever even visited it? When I was really into writing wiki pages I would go to sleep planning to write a few pages, and come back to see they were created, along with 50 other pages. The team is hard at work a lot of the time, and there is tons of information on it. It just happens to be up to date, and it seems you are looking for info on older modpacks. Them writing support for every single version of a mod is completely implausible.
I think I've asked once or twice, but honestly, I don't know how contributions to wikis work. I wouldn't mind helping at all. I like going through youtube maybe once, but I hate going through youtubes as a sole reference.
YouTube is actually a good source, as you see it working, and have 100% proof that it works.

Secondly, you just create an account (preferably under the name DREVL), find pages that are missing, and write them correctly following the guidelines that should be available in the link portal thingy.[DOUBLEPOST=1378855326][/DOUBLEPOST]

Many mod wikis are not very info heavy.

Also, best modpack to replace MindCrack would be DW20 + GT.

If you want a mod wiki to have better info the best way to achieve that would be to submit updated articles that better present more info on the page you want updated. The kind of info I want on a mod item would be how much setup work is involved in getting to the point where I can actually get the item in question; if it's a processing item like the Industrial Centrifuge or Industrial Blast Furnace (both GT) then what power setup is ideal to run it off and what kind of energy sources would I want to be harnessing to get there. That kind of info would be very helpful whether it was on the same page or on pages that link to the item in question but it would only happen if someone submits articles that are written to the required standards.

Cheers ...
