@Aidan updated Mekanism to v9! (For 1.7.10 right now, but he'll updating it 1.9 soon) Link to the update blog for more info (Like how it's going to be on CurseForge soon too)

  • Industrial Turbines
    • Massive, intricate, multiblock structures capable of processing massive amounts of steam to generate energy.
  • Thermoelectric Boilers
    • Scalable, multiblock steam boilers capable of producing massive quantities of steam from water and heat energy.
  • Quantum Entangloporters
    • A fancy block that uses frequencies to transfer items, energy, gas, fluid and energy both inter-dimensionally and across long distances.
  • Thermodynamic Conductors
    • A new type of transmitter that allows for heat energy to be transferred among specific heat-supporting machinery.
  • Resistive Heaters
    • Machines capable of translating electrical energy into heat energy, capable of being transmitted via Thermodynamic Conductors.
  • Fuelwood Heaters
    • Machines capable of creating massive amounts of heat by burning combustible resources.
  • Formulaic Assemblicators
    • A block that doubles as an advanced workbench and auto-crafting machine, using Crafting Formulas to store and process recipe patterns.
  • Muffling Upgrades
    • A new type of upgrade that muffles the sound of an active machine by 1/4 per unit installed. Four upgrades will make a machine completely quiet.
  • Security Desk
    • A high-tech terminal which binds to its owner upon placement and allows for the maintenance and control of all your owned machinery’s security preferences.
  • Infusing Factory
    • You requested it, it’s finally here – a whole new set of factories dedicated to the Metallurgic Infuser.
  • Structural Glass
    • Replacing Dynamic Glass, Structural Glass serves as a universal form of multiblock glass that can be used in any structure, aside from the Fusion Reactor and Thermal Evaporation Plant.
  • More Tiers
    • Four tiers of Bins, featuring different storage capacities
    • Four tiers of Fluid Tanks, featuring different storage capacities and output rates
    • Four tiers of Gas Tanks, featuring different storage capacities and output rates
  • Complete texture and model overhaul
    • Thanks to CyanideX, Mekanism has a whole new, beautiful look.
Enhancements:

  • Heat Framework, designed from the ground-up as a new way of transferring heat between specific machines and devices.
  • Security Framework, an intricate, owner-based network grid that allows for a player’s complete control over his machines.
  • New Flamethrower Modes, allowing for the focus of the Flamethrower as a tool, as a weapon, or as both.
  • Gas Generator Improvements, specifically a new automatically-scaling processing rate that allows for a single generator to run on much larger simultaneous amounts of fuel.
  • Transmitter Improvements, including the new ability of upgrading an already-placed network of transmitters by right-clicking them with a Mekanism alloy corresponding to the next tier.
  • Teleporter Improvements, including a more efficient frequency grid and auto-player-orientation upon teleport.
  • Thermal Evaporation Plant Improvements, including its new name, better crafting recipes, and heat framework integration to allow for heat to be directly funneled into existing Evaporation Plants via Thermodynamic Conductors.
  • Electric Pump Improvements, with complete upgrade support for faster pumping, and a new default config option that allows the Electric Pump to not suck water source blocks.
  • General Machinery Improvements, including upgradability of Fluidic Plenisher, side configuration of Energy Cube and Gas Tank (allowing for multiple output sides), and much more.
  • Interface Improvements, with better GUI icons thanks to CyanideX, in-game toggling of energy and heat units, and auto-scaling tooltips based on string width.
  • Packaging Improvements, with a more consolidated asset directory and the shipping of the Redstone Flux API to fix mod interactions.
  • Stability and Performance Improvements, which should result in reduced client-side and server-side lag.
Note that these are just the features I’m remembering right now, there’s a lot more that you’ll have to discover for yourself.

I lied. New Flaxbeard's Steam Power version 0.29.3.

  • INFO: Well, it turns out there were gigantic gamebreaking bugs. Hopefully this is the last one for 1.7.10, but I am not going to promise that because, hey, look at what happened with 0.29.2! \o/
  • FIX: Fix crash when putting armor pieces (like the Traveler's gear) in the Tinkers' Construct Tool Forge (#439).

new day, new update, and today it's @Vazkii with Morph-o-Tool
Vazkii said:
Morph-o-Tool

Morph-o-Tool is a simple mod, it adds only a single item, the Morphing Tool.

268203da26.png

The Morphing Tool can mimic any wrench, screwdriver, hammer or wand made of twigs and petals you throw at it, making it the perfect "omni-wrench" style item.

  • To add a wrench style item to it, craft the Morph-o-Tool alongside the item.
  • Whenever you look at a block from the mod that adds that item, the Morphing Tool will turn into the item you added.
  • You get the actual item from the mod, not an emulation of the item or a container. This ensures 100% compatibility with that item's functionality.
  • The item gets some NBT data tacked on to it to change its name and ensure the game knows to change it back when you look away.
  • Since you get the actual item, you can use it for crafting but you probably shouldn't, as you'll lose all other attached items.
  • If you don't want the item to switch (say you have an item that does a binding style function), press F and put it in your off hand. It only morphs while in the main hand.
  • While in the standard "Morphing Tool" item, you can use it to rotate blocks using the forge rotation system. It should handle all vanilla blocks and most mod blocks.
  • To remove items attached to it, drop the item using Q while shifting and it's morphed into the item you want to remove.
Configuration

The config file for the mod includes the following:

  • An option to allow every single item to be attached. Disabled by default.
  • A blacklist for mods that should not have items attached.
  • A whitelist for names where items that contain them should be able to be attached (like wrench, screwdriver, hammer...)
  • A whitelist for specific items that don't contain the previous names that should also able to be attached (like the Botania Wand of the Forest)
  • An alias list. Allows you to redirect one mod to another. For example, RFTools adds the Smart Wrench, and the alias list contains "rftoolsdim=rftools", so when you look at an RFTools Dimensions block (different mod) while you have a Smart Wrench, it'll grab that instead. Other aliases include Thermal Dynamics to Thermal Expansion, for example.

You can craft this by surrounding an ender chest with gold (4 gold, 1 ender chest required)

PaleoCrafter said:

Overview
"Vanilla Immersion" is a mod that tries to bring an immersive experience to Vanilla Minecraft, just like the name suggests! This is achieved by removing any "pop-up" GUI from most blocks. Instead, you are able to directly interact with them from within the world, with your actual hands.

Note: This is an early alpha release, expect issues ranging from lost items to hard crashes! Additionally, all immersive block variants are standalone blocks right now due to issues with MinecraftForge. Expect them to replace the actual Vanilla blocks in the future, but don't worry: The replacement will be as seamless as possible, you won't have to start a new world!

Features
Currently, the following set of blocks has received special treatment from this mod.

Crafting Table
Ever wondered what that grid on a crafting table is for? Exactly, you're supposed to craft on it! But unfortunately, right clicking with any item on the correct slot of the grid will just open a window, how annoying!

NQC8XxA.png

The Immersive Crafting Table has the following features:

  • Directly place items on the in-world crafting grid by right-clicking the appropriate slot
  • Left-clicking a slot (including the result) will remove the item it currently holds to your inventory
  • Sneaking while doing any click will perform the normal action, only with one item from a stack rather than all of them
  • Full support for dragging, just like the Vanilla GUI
  • Limited support for automation through hoppers or other mods
    • Crafted items may be extracted from the bottom unless the recipe requires special player data
    • On the north, south, west and east side of the crafting table items may be inserted into the adjacent ("middle") slots
    • Items may be inserted into the centre slot from the top face
Furnace
Just like the crafting table, the furnace can now be interacted with directly in the world. In addition to that, you can actually see inside the furnace now, if you ever wondered what's going in there when you smelt up those precious metals!

bx8kmGG.png

The Immersive Furnace has the following features:

  • Directly insert items into the respective slot (upper half for input, lower half for fuel)
  • Visual indication of remaining fuel (coal will turn lighter, i.e. into ash)
  • Parity with Vanilla automation-wise
    • Inserting items works just the same
    • "Extracting" items will have to be done through a hopper in front of the furnace since it will drop all smelting results into the world
Anvil
In Vanilla, the anvil isn't very impressive, just a collection of 4 grey cubes. With this mod, however, you can not only directly do your repairs in-world, you also get a nice preview of what you will receive as output.

LGfeftH.png

The Immersive Anvil has the following features:

  • Place inputs on the left side of the anvil
    • The object to be repaired/modified will go into the lower half
    • The modifier goes into the slot above
  • The result of the operation will be displayed translucently on the right-hand side of the anvil. Right click it to take it (will cost you XP, just like Vanilla)
  • Items can be named by right clicking the front face of the anvil and by typing text, it will directly be displayed
Enchantment Table
The Vanilla enchantment table has a fancy book floating above it, but it doesn't do much expect floating and flipping its pages. How about actually seeing information about the available enchantments on there?

rt88d6r.png

The Immersive Enchantment Table has the following features:

  • Insert the item to enchant and potential modifiers (i.e. lapis lazuli) into the table by right clicking it with them
  • Enchantments can be selected from each page, flipping the page is simply done by clicking the "button" or the left/right margin of the page
  • Information about required experience, lapis lazuli and a guaranteed enchantment can be found among the cryptic text on each page
  • Walking too far away from the table will close the book (just like Vanilla) and remove all items inserted
  • Upon clicking "Enchant", a process of about 6 seconds is started to perform the actual enchanting
Planned Features
  • Immersive versions of the remaining Vanilla blocks, excluding chests, hoppers, droppers and dispensers as well as potential Minecart forms of any block. The former is due to the fact that managing these large inventories would just be tedious, the latter is not set in stone, immersive entity variants are unlikely though
  • Integration with JEI
    • Full support of 'R', 'U' and other key combos while hovering over an item on the crafting table, the furnace or the anvil
    • Some way of automatically filling the crafting table with items for a recipe, potentially with a question mark "button" on the top face (will unfortunately open a GUI)
  • Configuration options
Permissions
You may freely use this mod in any mod pack (public or private) without explicitly asking the author for permission. Furthermore, the MIT license applies to this mod, so consult its text before asking any specific questions about redistribution etc.

Issues/Suggestions
If you have any issues with this mod or suggestions to improve it, kindly post them on the project's issue tracker. If you want to discuss your idea with the author, hop onto the EsperNet IRC and contact PaleoCrafter (may also PM the away nick PaleOff, messages will arrive either way).

  • Changed the Programmer Help icon to one that fits better with the interface.
  • Fixed a crash when cleaning up player data.
  • Fixed a dupe with some some blocks (like skulls and potentially other metadata related blocks like botania flowers) and block breaking tricks.
  • Fixed block breaking tricks breaking forge fluid blocks.
  • Fixed Fireballs not being considered as projectiles for the purposes of the Nearby Projectiles selector.
  • Fixed the level up HUD crashing the game if you have the keybind set to a mouse button. Also added support for displaying forge keybind modifiers.
  • Fixed the Psimetal shovel not being able to make path blocks.
  • Fixed the the Entity Motion selector being broken for players by making Entity Motion now use the eidos changelog 2 ticks ago rather than 1.
  • Fixed the Y coordinate shift of the Entity Position operator not being documented.
  • You now need to hold shift to set a CAD's spells by right clicking a programmer.

New 1.9 mod - Warp Scrolls! This is a small mod that allows the user to craft a single use scroll out of paper and an ender pearl. Shift right-clicking will store the coordinates in the scroll and tool tip, and right clicking any time after will cause the player to teleport to the location. Just a small mod I needed for an upcoming mod pack - enjoy!

- Moved the Morphing Tool to the Tools creative tab.

New release of McJtyLib 1.8.7 and RFTools 4.49 for MC 1.9.4:

4.49:
  • Important: this version needs McJtyLib 1.8.7!
  • Fixed a problem with elevators on client side which could cause crashes in rare cases
  • The modular storage block and shield system are now a lot more efficient with regards to server->client network traffic by only sending the information to the client that is needed. In the case of the modular storage block that means that the entire inventory of the block is no longer sent to the client whenever the client has to update the block and the same goes for the shield. For the shield this has the additional benefit that it will no longer be possible to overflow network packages by making huge shields. This is a pretty involved change that could cause client desync problems if I did things wrong. I couldn't find any issues but if it suddenly looks as if you your modular storage no longer has items (should be only client side) then please let me know.
  • Fixed all RFTools block to properly sync when the chunk is loaded. That means that modular storage will immediatelly show the contents bar and not only after opening the inventory and the same for many other blocks.
  • Fixed redstone logic for all RFTools blocks which was completely broken in 1.9.4. This could even cause rftools to crash (for example, if placing a pearl injector next to an endergenic generator).
  • All RFTools blocks now have proper The One Probe integration so they show at least the same information as WAILA does.

new day, new update, and today it's @InfinityRaider with NinjaGear
InfinityRaider said:

NinjaGear
Ninja Gear is a Minecraft mod for 1,9 which adds a set of ninja themed items and blocks for all your ninja desires. This mod was made with role playing options in the back of the head, and is the first in a series of small, themed mods.

Content
All items and blocks in this mod have an extensive tool tip indicating their purpose and how they are used as well as advantages and disadvantes. You can either use these, or, if you prefer to look online on some forum, read about the content here.

Ninja armor set
This armor set, when fully equipped, will make you run and attack slightly faster. Its main feature however is that it allows you to hide from mobs and players when it's dark enough. To hide, simply sneak (default: shift), if you are hidden a status effect will be rendered on your HUD indicating that you are indeed hidden. Note that equipping an item will reveal you. There are exceptions to this: most ninja gear items can be equipped without revealing the ninja.

When you attack from hiding, your attack will inflict a critical hit (amount can be configured). However you will also be revealed. When revealed, you can not hide for a short period of time. While you are revealed, there will also be a status effect HUD icon indicating you are revealed.

The screenshot below shows the ninja set in all its glory. While wearing the ninja armor set chest piece, all the ninja weapons and tools you have in your inventory (unless you have them equipped) will be rendered on your player model.

4818e6330a.jpg

The recipes to craft each armor piece are shown in JEI, as well as on the picture in the spoiler below.

Finally a couple of screenshots showing the ninja gear in action

Spoiler (click to show)

Ninja weapons
]Foremost, the ninja is a master of stealth, but is also no stranger to combat. The ninja has some weapons of preference

Katana
The first weapon is the Katana, it deals more damage and is faster than a regular sword, however it requires two hands to wield. You will notice that using the katana while having an item equipped in the offhand is unwieldy: you attack slower and deal less damage. Note that equipping a katana will reveal you from hiding. The katana is the ninja's back up when stealth is no longer an option.

It is crafted with this recipe:

9f8ca931d8.png

Sai
The sai are one of the ninja's signature weapons. They are smaller than the katana and can be equipped when hidden without revealing the ninja. However they require one in each hand, if you are only using one, you will notice you deal less damage.

one piece of the sai is crafted with the following recipe:

be5f271656.png

Shuriken
Sometimes the ninja wants to take out a target it can not reach. The ninja's answer to this is the shuriken. While shurikens have a shorter range than bow and arrow, they can be thrown in quick succession.

Their recipe is as follows:

c56edcf917.png

Ninja tools
The ninja also uses some tools to help him in certain situations. The most common tools are listed below

Smoke bomb
When the ninja has no place to hide or has to make a quick escape, he can throw a smoke bombs. Smoke bombs will create a smoke cloud effectively creating a dark spot. This dark spot will linger for a while, but eventually will disperse and dissappear.

Smoke bombs are crafted using this recipe:

Below are some screenshots of the smoke bomb being used.

Rope
This mod also adds rope, a rope can be attached at the bottom of blocks with a solid bottom face. Ropes can also be attached to other ropes or certain anchor points. By clicking a rope with a rope, the rope is extended downwards by one. Clicking a segment of a rope will break the rope and the rope segments below it. Shift clicking a rope will break the entire rope.

Rope is crafted as follows:

Below are some screenshots of a construction using ropes

Spoiler (click to hide)

Rope coil
It often occurs that a ninja wants to climb to a higher spot, but there is no route to it. Therefore the ninja can tie together some ropes (read shift+right click) to form a rope coil. This rope coil can then be thrown to create a 10 block long (can be configured) rope. Rope coils can also be thrown to existing ropes, this will extend the rope. Any ropes that are left over after the rope touches the ground are returned to the ninja's inventory.

The ninja can also use the following crafting recipe to convert a rope coil back into individual ropes:
