Blood Magic News
May as well post a bit of news on the next version. v1.3.0 will feature the Demon Invasion system, complete with T6 and a few more goodies. There is still a LOT of work that will be required for this to be completed, such as the activation method and the inclusion of Project: Omega, which aims to complement the Demon Invasion system as well as have more uses for the reagent system. Other things may include the Combinational Potion system, having potions dilute when using filling agents, etc.

Progress on the Demon Invasion?
Backend for generating structures: 95%
Method for building roads and buildings: 99%
Buildings: 50%
Demons: 10%
Demon AI: 65%
Portal Formation: 5%
Sanity: -5%
Item drops: 0%
Item loot from structures: 0%

Total: ~75%.

The Backend stuff took most of the effort for this system. Once I have decided on two demons to be used for the initial system, I can actually give a beta out for people to use. The system IS a bit far off, but if I actually focus on the system alone a working beta can be out by sometime in December.

New Mod!
Cosmetic Armor - Because it's important to be stylish
Dylan Miller
Cosmetic Armor is a simple mod that brings four additional armor slots to the Player's inventory. What's special about these four slots though is that any armor placed in them will only appear visually on the Player, and not affect the Player in any way. It allows for the usage of one armor piece (say, Boots of the Traveler) while still retaining the aesthetics brought by another.

Pressing the Cosmetic Inventory hotkey (C by default) opens up this GUI. The slots along the left are the armor slots you're used to, where the slots on the right contain the armor to be displayed on your Player. Any armor that doesn't have a corresponding piece of cosmetic armor will render as normal.

* Fixed armor being accepted in to any slot

* Fixed cosmetic armor items not dropping on death

Not really. This is just a first and rough release. Far from stable. I will be staying away from this for a bit more until things stabilize sufficiently.
Actually, they can begin to update their mods, but they don't have to release any releases for 1.8 until Forge is more stable, but they can start to update their mods anyway.

That's of course possible but I prefer to wait because otherwise I would have to maintain two code bases (1.8 is very different from 1.7 so you can't really use the same code base) and that's a lot of work.

In my experiences in developing and playing, mod developers with even the most basic mods that add just recipes don't even begin to update to the newest version until it is completely stable.

And the clock starts now
The dish you'll be making today will involve MCP and 1.8 to make Forge.
You have 2 hours / months give or take to make the best Forge that will impress our judges!

Let's look at our competitors.

LexManos: Hey, I'm # years old and I came here to prove that I can make this dish better than anyone!
XCompWiz: My version of Forge will be out of this dimension!
Adubbz: #2PRO4U
cpu: I quit. :I
Everyone else: GITHUB COMMITS!!!!!!

Judges, who do you think will pull this off?
Gordon Ramsey: ...... D:<
Spy: I'm off to see your mother.
Gabe Newell: Contestant 3, wait make that 1, 2 and 4
Bear Grylls: I like the one that looks like piss.

Clearly we have no favourites.

Surprisingly, Lex adds a bit of his spicy code. Very brave choice of flavour.
Seems like the rest chose to play it safe, and go with the original recipe.

Time's almost up.....
Gaben: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 2, 1!

Judges what do you think?
Bear Grylls: I'm not feeling that warm yellow fluid feel, I don't like it.
Spy: It sucks! I never really was on your side.
Gabe Newell: I give it 3/5, I mean 2/5
Gordon Ramsey: This code is so complex, even the language it was written in couldn't understand it!

This does not look good for the contestants.
Who will get eliminated? Find out next week on ForgeCraft season 5!

I hate cliff hangers!!!!!! Just tell us who won already!

What is this madness?!
NotEnoughResources by Way2muchnoise

Adds NEI integration for world resources like ores and mob drops

Currently in Alpha:
a) does not fully implement biome/dimension variation
b) Y levels of ore spawning might be slightly inaccurate, but that's what you get when dealing with statistics

Development Builds at http://jenkins.jakimfett.com/job/NotEnoughResources/

Ooooh, spoilers

Now I gotta make invisible texture armour with CustomItems to see my beautiful skin.
