What do you consider cheating?

what the fuck are you on about? No... it really isn't. If someone does that then yes I would call that cheating. Play the game as it's intended to be played. If you wanna play Gregtech fine, go for it. If you don't, fine, go for it. Neither way is cheating and if anyone calls either cheating then they're morons.

Who are you to say how a game is intended to be played? I could make the argument that it was intended to be played on the hardest difficulty, and the other difficulties are just for the people that are bad at the game. If you go by that philosophy, any modification to a game (i.e. FTB) is cheating.

So, we're all cheating just by logging on. Making that argument is just silly, because it's obviously not true.

But, hey. I've obviously upset you, from the mass of name-calling that you've resorted to. So you win. It's not cheating. Playing with GregTech is much easier than playing without.

We could talk each other in circles debating what we consider to be cheating, when really we don't even know what we're labeling this stuff.

You play within the boundaries of the gamemode you're in. Play on survival: spawning in items is cheating.

I got one better. How about flying the Dodo in GTA3 on the PS2? Anyone else here do that? That is "hard" but man what a sense of accomplishment doing it. Or how about in GTA:SA beating that one mission flying the mini airplane. You know before it got fixed were you will run out of fuel unless you are sooo spot on. There is many different ways of things being "hard" but it is still subjective. One Lambert thinks is hard may not be so for someone else. And that is okay.

So....not using GregTech is "cheating", but flying and using quarries in minecraft isn't? If not using GregTech is cheating because not having GT makes FTB easier, then I'd say that FTB as a whole is cheating, because it makes so many basic Minecraft tasks easier in so many different ways.

I dont see why you have to project some label onto the choices someone else makes anyway. These are all make believe things in a make believe world. If you want to change the way you play your game you can; if you dont want to you dont have to. Same for everyone else.

upset? no. Irritated, yes. I don't spawn items in and in my single player world I don't use gregtech. I find the idea that someone believes I'm cheating for not using GT to be frankly insulting and if you think I'll not defend that point then you really don't know me all that well.

Well, originally because I wanted to impress that 'cheating' is a matter of perspective from one gamer to another, and usually every viewpoint had SOME level of merit.

It's obviously intended to be used. Furthermore, it's not an act of dishonesty to use it.
