Cool concept. You might run into troubles with inactivity, though; Jerks like me would just not vote in the lynch and hoard a ton of points. If you gave people too many points at the start, too, the game would drag on for ages.I might want to GM* a game in a few weeks as well. Still have to cook up one though.
I had an idea about a point-based werewolf game.
Rough explanation of the idea:
There are wolves and townies.
Everyone starts with 10** points.
Everyone votes for lynches and each vote for a person takes one of his points.
If you have 0 points or less, you are dead.
The wolves each get one night-vote and they can spread their night votes to hit multiple targets at once, each hit taking one point from the target.
Normal victory conditions apply.
This concept may be combined with several known mafia or werewolf roles.
*Yes, GM is a verb now.
**may need to be less
Maybe change it so that a vote each day is free (and required), but people could spend more points to make their vote count for more? That would let you lower everyone's point amount, too, so that the wolves could burst a player down if they wanted to pool their votes.
Also, if you let wolves spread their votes out among multiple players, you probably shouldn't report each attack in your recaps unless someone died. Otherwise the wolves would never spread votes, since they're just confirming extra townies.
