He hasn't said anything about implementing vine covered ingots, just vinteum, plus he has already said no magic at the beginning, you have to remember its his mod, not just oh he can add this and that if he wants too.

i didnt said that he will, i said that he can implement em. it`s WIP mod at quite early development stage, so i wonder why it does bother you so much.
besides i wouldnt count crafting with simple crafting bench, to be the magic he spoke of.
Restone is a type of stone that when receives imput signal glows a bit and can pass that signal. Not a cable. A stone. It feels magical for me. And the on-off state is a use of redstone in tech.
Ok, let me set this streight.
Basic machines are sticks being bound together with vines, this allows the machine block to function, because its all together (it will also need a machine component)
Advanced machine blocks will be made out of vinium and mossy cobble, also there will be some machine component with it.
"Magic" is more of a voo-doo thing, it will be a addon to vineacraft, this mod is a tech mod and thats how it should stand for now.
To be honest, im not massively bothered about real live making sense, if i did i would have threw this idea out the window and went with something along the lines of IC2 or BC3, i really dont care.

Idea's change ^^
The fluid thing and not using "energy" only came recently, previously i would have been doing some boring old system like eu/mj.
Its just in the last few weeks that the mod has got its "identity" to say.
The glowing is the signal strength/power and it is not magic, just a form of transportation for a input, in real life there are many things like redstone, just slightly different.
No, this is minecraft there ar magic things, I'm sorry if you're not aware of them, the glwing certainly is magic.

Vineacraft is a "extension" to that you could say, basic machines are made in a similar fashion.
