Small update: Added in the client and common proxy, no code in it yet, but it runs so far.
Iirc, when its fleshed out it means that the mod will run in multiplayer, but i dont know loads. :D

When you have anything added, please post, I'm really curious...

OK, a new Idea just popped on my head...

THE VINE ACELATATOR!

It requires power to make vines grow quicker(And the other machine receives more power as it grows quicker).But if a vine "farm" is using it non-stop, then the you will get a disease that will kill your vines/ produce nasty effects on them...

Again that sounds interesting. So kinda like those old causuc reactor variants which you could only put on for a small amount of time and produced ALOT of power?


Also, what would be everyone's thoughts on using buildcraft power early on? Of course there would be ways to produce buildcraft power somehow.

Small update:


I have re-done the way how i was making the mod, and created a proper mcmod.info file.
Anyway's, on a more important matter, what would be everyone's opinion if i did something pointless? Like a Vine + Iron = Vinium and then Vinium into tools?

Of course this would just be a "Pointless content to say "Hey, vineacraft exists" " and will be removed at a later point.

And im still wanting to get some great idea's for the mod :D

It's been ages since I did an idea brainstorm, but here we go.

CRAFTING RECIPES/AMMO:
Stone Nuggets (Crafting recipe and ammo)
Vine-rope (Crafting recipe)
Vine-knot (Crafting recipe)
Vine-paste (Crafting recipe and also functions as green dye)
Vine-paper (Crafting recipe)

BLOCKS:
Netting (Trap door that doesn't have to be mounted on a block and also can't be opened or closed)

UTLITY:
Vine-whip (A short ranged weapon that can launch out a distance of 5 blocks, stunning enemies it hits. If launched at netting, it'll form a vine-rope and you can swing from it)
Vine-sling (A slingshot that uses a vine instead of a rubber band. Consumes cobble nuggets)
Vine-reinforcer (A bunch of vine-paste surrounded by a thin layer of vine-paper and mounted on a stick. When injected into leaves, the-vine paper gets torn and the vine-paste infects the leaves. Over time it'll reinforce the leaves. For every day, it takes the leaves another second to break. It maxes out at 1 minute per leaf block)

FOOD:
Vinetage Beef (Steak but flavored with vines)
Vinewrap (Lots of different spices and herbs mixed into vinetage beef and then wrapped with vine-paper)

TOOLS/WEAPONS:
Living Hole (Very cheap to make, when placed on a block it'll slowly dissolve that block over time. It doesn't drop the block. If placed near leaves it'll spread inside of the leaves and infect blocks next to the leaves, dissolving them over time)
Parasite (A stick covered in vines. When an enemy is hit with it the parasite sticks to them and slowly entangles them over time, reducing their movement speed and making them drown faster. It works 25% faster while in water and works 25% slower when the entity is not exposed to sunlight)
Wrath of Life (A bunch of vine paste wrapped in vine paper. When thrown at a mob, it does nothing. If the mob has been sliced with a sword recently (in the past 10 seconds), it infects the mob and starts to boost the mob's cells causing the mob to grow larger, faster, stronger, and tougher. If 10 of them are injected into a mob, the mob will turn into a pile of vines and start eating nearby leaves and entities. If you put a Wrath of Life in a needle and inject yourself, the same effects are applied. After injecting yourself 25 times in under a minute, you will lose the ability to use items or view your inventory. Instead you will have two upgraded vine-whips with increased range, stun time, and damage along with a heavily upgraded vine-sling that acts as a low-damage and low-accuracy sniper rifle. Your health will be increased to 40 hearts (80 HP), and passive mobs will run from you)


If I think of a decent amount of other features to add then I'll post them here later.
Currently I'm out of ideas.

Also, you should make it very clear when you make temporary items, otherwise people will assume you have awful ideas and you don't care about the quality of your mod.


EDIT: Also, I think vines being organic and all that should make organic things, not machinery. Just my opinion though, go in any direction you want.

I just think the wrath of light is a bit too much...

I don't know about pokefenn, but I think is very neat having a organic machinery made out of vines and stuff...

Some of them can be smoothed and reduced in certain places if they're deemed OP.

It's meant to be the vine-reinforcer but for mobs.

Peggle, some of those idea's are great :D

I felt like the direction of the mod was more like primitive machinery using vines as a main component, trying to fill out a strange niche in tech mods.
But i dont really understand how in ways it could be used in a "organic" way, i just cannot imagine it in my mind.
But i could imagine stuff like a manual pump that runs off vines.
And i feel a bit like "This mod was created as a tech mod, and i feel that i want it to be a tech mod"

Also, i am going to redo the OP, it is very messy.

Re-Done the OP if anyone is interested.
And i have decided, a tech mod is how i want to take the direction of the mod, maybe i will add "organic" ways to use them as a early game thing, but for now, it shall be a tech mod.

Peoples thoughts on these textures of vinium?
I was thinking of making the tools being better than iron but worse than diamond with good enchantability.

This really has shown how bad i am at texturing, i really need to learn photoshop.

Ah...We have to remember that vinium is just Iron with some vined ;D

I suggest changing it to:A bit worst then Iron (maybe 200?) but with a fantastic enchantability (Better then gold)...

Don't ask me for thetexturing, I'm also crap...

And now 1.6 prerelease..... i need to learn how to update it.

I need to stop messing around and work on getting better at java, i am hoping for a beta release in 2-3 weeks (If everything goes to plan)
And these textures are perfect, due to myself being a really bad at making textures its great to have support like this!

I'll start on the rest of the tools and also maybe some gems, tokens, talismans, etc.


Finally a project to work on. Boredom no more. Until I get bored of texturing.
