If your machine is efficient enough they are usefulStill...upwards of 1,000 FPS makes it seem like Minecraft just milks every bit of horsepower it can with only the OS limiting it. It just seems...inefficient and pointless. Free those clock cycles up for something else or give the GPU/CPU a breather.
