4819. I keep having early nights instead of playing, in the hope it would help my tiredness, but it hasn't seemed to have helped. All it's done is make me more antsy to get back on Regrowth, while still feeling tired!

I've been a little inspired by DW20's economical use of interfaces and EnderIO conduits for carpenter crafting in Age of Engineering, and I'm wondering whether I can do something similar (albeit more unwieldy) with Buildcraft pipes (or maybe Mekanism ones) in Regrowth. I mean, I could just take the hit and use more interfaces and channels... and I probably will, but still, the idea has me interested.

Likewise, the thought of maybe doing something cunning with crucible furnaces, smelteries, timers, buildcraft tanks and more for automating pure titanium without accidentally pumping out impure titanium or magnesium. I could try and copy someone else's build, but... I think this is one I want to try and puzzle out myself.

So, a question: I think there's a thing in AE2 that lets it light up a redstone signal when its crafting something, and I THINK I can use that in the above build. Does anyone know how that works?

4809 That's like, what, 2 months?
Actually, it was only 2 weeks.

Could you be a little more specific as to what you are trying to craft and in what device?
The Vanilla Comparator is compatible with a surprising lot of mods.

4821. Sorry Robijn, I know what I'm thinking of now I believe - its the ME Level Emitter - when you put a crafting card in, you can apparently select certain redstone emission options related to crafting including telling it to emit redstone while crafting is occurring.

So, I'm playing Regrowth.

Basically my thought was this: if I can have something which gives off redstone pulses at slightly below the rate at which ingots cast in Tinker's Construct, and have the thing pulsing be enabled by redstone signal (or disabled, I can always put the signal from the emitter through some sort of inverter), then in theory I can get a smeltery filled with the liquid I want to cast to produce ingots (obviously with some sort of bus or interface from the casting) until the crafting request is fulfilled. Given that I'll be mixing molten impure titanium and molten magnesium in the smeltery to form molten pure titanium, I need to make sure it doesn't run dry. I figure, if I have a buffer of pure titanium in there, and have the crafting ingredients for the precursors to the pure titanium (rutile ore and limestone) going into speedy things to melt them (might be hamstrung by the speed of Mariculture's Vat, we'll have to see), then the smeltery should be back-filled quick enough to make sure it doesn't run out.

EDIT: its occurred to me that one thing I could do is to also have a set of magnesium dust already made (say 2 stacks), and tell AE2 that the crafting recipe needs limestone, magnesium dust and rutile. Then have the limestone go to be melted, then put into the Vat to make more magnesium dust and have that dust go back into the system behind the scenes to backfill what's been taken, while putting the magnesium dust taken from the system straight into a crucible furnace to be melted. That way if the Vat DOES take a long time to make magnesium dust, there's at least a buffer there.
