Hai.

So i have been watching a lot of threads and such lately about those 2 mods. Mainly that they are coming in the future for the dw20 pack.

I have been looking around and googling all day to try to find out if those mods will be added in the 1.5 version of the ultimate pack. Anyone got any light to shed on this ?

If this is answered somewere already. Then im sorry, But i didnt find it. Only found a thread about someone adding TC on ultimate

I mostly play alone so thats most likely something im gonna do when the 1.5 pack is out. However. I would feel more comfortable with the mods being in the packs themselves. I am rather technically incompotent and i have close to no idea about adding mods and such

unless the texture pack has been modified to fit the mod, the mod will show up with the default texture.

I meant that they got kinda jumbled and some of my thaumcraft textures went wonky.

I was probably just being stupid though, I might try stuff again.

honestly I'm more functinality over form, in nearly every case. I've never used a texture pack, but I've been building custom mod packs more and more over the last month or two.

Why can't you/people you play with on the server add it yourself/ves?
Honestly if you can't answer the question in the OP why are you even giving your two cents?

Many people don't change the pack at all because servers don't most of the time. That means he could get ahead of the curve learning about them before actually using them in practice as many people like to do.

Anyway. Slowpoke said Ars Magica will NOT be added to ultimate and no word on tinkers that I know of. Slowpoke said that on a stream a few days ago.

Guys, guys, guys. Those two mods aren't that good and most certainly not for everyone, think what they'll do to your game before you add them.

Tinkers construct is... painfully useless and makes you feel like you're playing divine rpg. (that is bad thing - unless you like it) And you'll probably spend a good day or two getting the ultimate tinkers tool and realize that it wasn't at all worth it and that if you used those resources then you could've had a fully decked out mps by then. OTOH I really like the rapier...

Ars magicka is meant to be played standalone, it's balance and every others mod balance BREAKS HORRIBLY when you put them together. Which might be fun if you like ee2 megabuilds, don't get me wrong, it really can. But it's not all that good for a bird comparing tech servers a/o people who like technological progression.

Seriously though, the essence system pretty much IS ee2.

The spells are... well, to be honest, a bow and arrow is often better than many of the spells at dealing damage. And the really good version of said spells... well, they need ammo (so why're they better than bows) and you need to invest hundredths of levels before you have enough mana to use them, even then, two or three shots of those will deplete your mana reserves, so why bother. (let's not even get into how you'll lose half of the levels if you die)

The really useful spells like blink and flight and 7 league step are really useful and fun to use.

So really, all you'll ever use ars magica for is those 3 spells and infinite resources.

KirinDave is gonna murder you in your sleep.

Tinker's construct is an amazing mod! I can't use it in 1.4.7, but it even seems like a tier 3 is coming eventually.

True stuff Poppycocks, both of the mods are somewhat big additions.
I won't speak on behalf of Ars Magica because I've never used it, but I actually really like TC.
The ore processing system feels unique instead of 'grind dusts smelt dusts get ingots'. The main appeal of the mod to me is the near infinite customizability of the tools. My friend and I have two completely different toolsets fit to our liking, different colors, and it's great. The mod is EXTREMELY well documented too.
So TC gets at least 1 swag point in my book.

Yes, it even breaks everything that you can craft only with Ars Magica installed. However this is just problem with magic fabricator alone. Spells are very useful. Jump and speed are really good for traveling, Palpatine spell is awesome vs mobs when augmented (it doesn't require essence). There are also a lot of possibilities with caster, which I just started to use. Recall is great when you like exploring, if you want to remove a forest or set of TNT from distance firebolt is great. When you are saying that bow is better than spells, well you can just imbue bow with additional spell (I griefed everything around my base using fireball imbued bow). You don't loose half of your levels when you die, you loose 5 by default (you can change it in config).

Erm? What? Nothing used to build a smelter would be used in MPS, nor do the two nether metals for the "ultimate" weapons. And while getting all that setup, unless you ignore everything you don't "need right now" then you'll actually be working toward MPS at the same time.

Like many things in minecraft, if you make the effort to get it, it'll take less than an hour.

No, it's a mod about cheaper early game tools that lets you choose your own enchants and get Fortune to work on every kind of ingot. It also turns you into a spammy murder machine and lets you find ores on the surface.

Tinker's Construct > IC2 tools

Very little in TC that isn't in Thaumcraft---in terms of practical application---when it comes to tools, don't really think comparing it to IC2 tools proves much.

I don't really think that is an argument against a mod though, that the functionality is present in one or more other mods. In the case of TC you can find most of the functionality elsewhere but how it works in TC is different enough to make it an interesting change of pace.
