and get Fortune to work on every kind of ingot.

Since when does Fortune, even with TC, work on say.. Iron ore?

Note: Smelter doesn't count. Pulverizer is better, and already very early game. Quartz grinder is even earlier, and just as good as the smelter for doubling.

That being said, I like its tools

Tinkers construct is... painfully useless and makes you feel like you're playing divine rpg. (that is bad thing - unless you like it) And you'll probably spend a good day or two getting the ultimate tinkers tool and realize that it wasn't at all worth it and that if you used those resources then you could've had a fully decked out mps by then. OTOH I really like the rapier.

Painfully Useless...

I see you've not played with the mod yet. You should do so before offering up opinions on it.
Also whoever gave you that rapier should've told you about the rest of the mod.

Fortune 9 is fun on a pickaxe.

Yes, in magic fabricator when it receives redstone signal. Now I really don't know what to do with barrel half full of gold blocks.
Use a Minum Stone to turn them into diamond blocks? Make golden apples? Make golden apples with gold blocks?
Build a Rap Stars Dream House? I suggest the house. Nothing more needless then making a house out of gold blocks. Once I get Metallurgy 3 working again I'll have a house made of gold bricks. And I'll buy a pony. Made of diamonds. 'Cause I'll be rich.

Have you tried a Lava Crystal + Lapis? I haven't messed with the mod yet, so I don't know, but the combination just might make a pickaxe cause ores to drop more than two ingots apiece, with the exception of those that don't work in a furnace (Cobalt and Ardite?).

If this does work, it sounds a little unbalanced to me. Especially if Tinkers picks work in automining devices (Arcane Bore, from that other TC mod, perhaps?).

I highly doubt that kind of cross mod interaction will work without some serious coding from both mod makers, more likly that the Tinkerers tools simply wont work in Thaumcrafts bore.

And Yes, Lava crystal with a full Lapis mod gives you more then 2X ingots.

Out of 4 ore, i had 10 bars.
Out of 10 ore, i had 28 bars.
Test done with Iron.

Would occasionaly drop me 4 bars from one ore. x.x possible 4X mats?

Greg cannot nerf that kind of bronze. ;)

Also, don't be too proud of that technological terror you've constructed. The ability to fabricate planets is insignificant next to the power of a copper ingot.

Ars Magica isn't your "average" magic mod... Its potential shows in multiplayer, spell creation (again in smp) and only once you get into its mindset. It's quite challenging and thus requires a more careful approach. I'm having loads of fun with it.

No, you don't lose half your levels when you die, by default you lose 5 but it's configurable to 1 level. Once you level up your magic, you're pretty much indestructible, your armour repairs itself from your mana and at some point you have SO much mana you don't lose much at spell casting. And there's also the affinities, which control certain spells. If you're under a certain affinity, other spells will cost a LOT more, but that's the point.

Also, you don't waste experience by leveling up. You would eventually use those levels to enchant your tools, well you don't need to do that in AM, spells are there for you.

Except, he doesn't need to. mDiyo is on record:

http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1659892-151tinkers-construct/page__st__1100#entry22028452

According to every mod but forestry, 3 copper + 1 tin = 2 bronze

And that's the output of the smelter. 3 ingots of copper, plus 1 ingot of in will make 2 ingots of bronze. (Of course, if you use ore, it is doubled and 3+1 ores would make 4 ingots of bronze)

Also, don't be too proud of that technological terror you've constructed. The ability to fabricate planets is insignificant next to the power of a copper ingot.

That's what centrifuging lava is for.

DoctorOr, what would be a good source item for your EE2 Ars Magica thing? This is a great prospect for me. Some kind of Ore?

I recall it being mentioned on the page that you can use stone bricks. I assume this means taking stone in a fabricator and making stone bricks, then using a autocrafting table to turn stone bricks into chiseled stone bricks. Which requires Redpower 2, mind you, but the point stands, right?
Personally I use a Dark Nexus and make diamonds from the souls of monsters.

And with 100 it gives 233. Putting it at normal Fortune III bonus, and less than a full GT or Factorization setup.

his is irrelevant. Over time is what matters. Even 100 ores isn't a large enough sample.[DOUBLEPOST=1367457294][/DOUBLEPOST]

Hint: There is no RedNet for 1.4.7, and there is no Redpower for 1.5.1

I'm abusing MFR autospawner with magma cubes (positive mob essence output), so I'm left with a lot of magma cubes, which are great essence source. Another abusable recipes are ores using UU matter recipe, because in AM ore counts the same as ingot, so using FZ processing you can double your essence (fabricator adds 50 % cost). Charcoal (160) is a better than logs (40), so you can use minium stone recipe for logs, cook them and get them back to nexus. Blue wool (570) is quite good, so you can use sheering turtles or MFR rancher. Stone brick slab has 2 times more essence than stone brick, so just fabricating bricks and autocrafting slabs will net you 125 essence for each stone brick. Similarly chiseled quartz is a lot better than quartz slab (7407 for 6 slabs, 14820 for 3 chiseled quartz).

I wanted the one that goes through processing for heavy profit.
Ok, I'm lost on how this fabricator works. What do I put in that can be processed and generated?
Doctoror, you are the one that made the system, surely you can help me! Please?
EDIT: Oh, and how do you find out how much raw essence is in something?
