Time for a massive update! After a couple false starts, I've been working on this ship fairly steadily for the last 2 weeks. Screenshots below.
Front of the ship, I'll build the bridge here soon. My factory is currently producing reinforced glass to finish the upper dome:
Underside, still need a LOT of brass, will probably change to iron at some point in the future:
Inside the dome this WIP is my arboretum, my son built the hill on the left with a small waterfall and stream and also the pond on the right:
Top hull as seen from the back. ALMOST done!!
My thaumcraft room in the center of the saucer also still very much a WIP. I use crystals to recharge the VIS, and a pure bee in the alveary to help with flux. The node is just behind the enderchest:
I have 4 sections like this to build various rooms- 2 stories:
My current factory. Input processing on the right, most of the autocrafting and secondary machinery is on the left. Swapping out most of the RP2 stuff for AE has really reduced the size and complexity of the system quite a bit. I had to build a couple GT Charge-o-mats to keep my armor charged up as the roof now blocks out the sun preventing my solar helmet from working.
This will ALL be relocated when I build the engineering section of the ship.
My (hopefully) explosion proof AE storage area (with a few Quantum chests). The ME cable snakes up, down, left & right through a small maze in the section not covered in warded glass, then goes under the stone blocks up to the main saucer section.
I decided to take on my largest project to date in MC.. a fully functional base in a spaceship hull built in a void mystcraft age!
This will probably be a WIP for a long time as I'm still fleshing out the design details of the ship itself. I wanted to make it solely out of iron blocks, then realized I'll never have quite that much iron so all metal of some sort or another but even then- that's a LOT of resources. I may just build out of stone brick or sandstone and later replace sections as I get the resources.
The base frame is now started, a 151x101 oval shape:
(nearly 2 stacks of iron blocks and 14 stacks of brass blocks used so far, I wasn't kidding about the LOT of resources required..)
I plan on making some progress on this every day and posting an update at least 2-3x a week.
