Hey all, my first post here so hello I am RavenBurga. So I've just changed from Mindcrack to Ultimate pack, and I'm hoping to use the same world for Ultimate. I know there's different worldgen, so what I'm thinking is that I could just copy my base with worldedit and paste it into a fresh Ultimate world. Would this be possible? My main concern would be that the item/block IDs would be different, so instead of a biogas engine I might end up with a mass fabricator or something. Could anyone give me a hand with this?

Also, I'm not sure if this belongs here or in tech support, sorry if it's not meant to be here.

Back it up! And try it. From what I get its ok to add more just not take it away.
If you take it away your left with holes, If you add it then chunks that wernt loaded will add new stuff.

Copy the configs from your mindcrack world to the ultimate pack. That way, all the items already in your base SHOULD remain the same items. If you run in an id conflict, then change the new mods configs, else you'll get different items.

And yes, BACKUP, as far as i know worldedit does not show mod items, but leaves the id's in place, so it could work.

You could just copy your save between the pack folders.

The FTB packs use the same config files. the only mod mindcrack has that ultimate does not is traincraft. So Mindcrack to ultimate will remove traincraft items and blocks -- unless you manually move that mod to ultimate, which may or may not have conflicts.

traincraft adds all those oil sands and crude oil blocks, so there will be some holes in your existing chunks. It has some blocks and items, but not really popular, so you probably aren't even using it. Major world generation is the same between the packs, so you should not have crazy biome borders.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot and report back. In terms of just copying my save over, doesn't Applied Energetics add a new ore?

EDIT: Also, how do I copy over my config?
