I don't believe I've ever been so horrified by wild-life as I am by that fowl. That is one freaky blink, good sir.

And yes, it's NEVER* what you say, it's always HOW** you say it.

*Not totally true
**Slightly less true then above clause

It's often not what you say, and more often then not how you say it. Sometimes what you say is, however, more important then how you say it.
When you work retail, you learn the art of saying "die in a fire" in such a way that people are happy you gave them the suggestion.

And though that gif is from the interwebs, I've seen that foul fowl at a zoo and it is hynotically terrifying IRL. It's the closest thing to a Jurassic Park encounter.

I believe you need to attribute that paraphrase to Churchill, sir ;)

Its not that I don't like golems. Generally I have them everywhere. I just don't like alchemy golems. A room full of pipes and bottles was wonderfully steampunk, and I rather looked forward to the new pipe mechanic as it was going to have venting gasses, without appreciating how broken it would be.

ooh!
Perhaps you could set up a pipe system to specifically break and leak gas somewhere for aesthetics?
(Don't know if that means you permanently leak essentia, or just the initial amount that goes into the pipes though)

It just displays leaking gas to indicate where the foul-up is. You don't appear to actually lose anything.

Correct, so you can just have a bunch of useless pipes hanging around leaking cool liquids while your golem hangs around in the back doing all the work.

I will say this, now that I am not trying to power through research and I'm actually crafting things, I'm pretty cool with the changes. I took on a Better Dungeons nether fort last night with 3 runic armor pieces & tartarite leggings. My main weapons were a cutlass and a thaumium capped Silverwood Staff. I didn't breeze through but it was fun. Also the talisman of remedium* was helpful against the flame dragon.

I just remembered something I always forget to test (and I can't test it at the moment and I'm sure I'll forget it again so uh might as well ask here). Do alchemical constructs have any suction? That is, can I pipe a jar up to them and enjoy seeing alchemy happen without needing more furnaces and alembics?

[EDIT] Just watched Ako's latest video, looks like it works (although you might need valves to put aspects in the correct order). Neat.

I'm always debating where to start, currently havent started at all with thaumcraft in this world. So suggest me where to start, resource wise Im pretty high tech so wanted to do some magic. I usually try to get goggles first because seeing nodes becomes less painful.

Go straight for research mastery and its prerequisites. Then goggles, then go for the higher tier wands and staves. Wand foci are a very potent weapon, especially when you finish the research and start the TTKAMI stuff. I <3 Shadowbeam focus

As for teh Thaumium Capped Silverwood Staff dilemma, Etho explains it in his latest FtB video at about 19-20 minutes in if someone wants to check it out :) .
