Is MultiMC compatible with 1.6 yet? If I recall correctly it is still not. There is supposedly an alpha release of MultiMC5 that might work, but it is still an alpha release and probably will be buggy.

Edit: +1 vote for using the vanilla launcher. Just install forge and copy over the mods folder and the configs and you should be set. Forge has an installer so no more manually editing the minecraft.jar file it does it for you. Look here for DW20's video on that.

Its working now, so I managed to get an instance built with RR. Now to see if I can port it over to MultiMC so I can have total control over which mods are included.

[EDIT] Oh poo... that totally crashed. It loads just fine in the AT Launcher, but when I try to import the instance into MultiMC, it crashes. Are they somehow incompatible? Isn't a minecraft folder fairly universal?
you already have total control... go into your mods folder and rip out the things you don't want... in the launcher itself there is also an "Edit mods" tab that you get after downloading the pack.

You need to fiddle with various java settings, as those are automagically set by the ATLauncher when you download RR.
