Thaumcraft Research Question

Let me preface this by saying that I have Forgotten magic, and magic bees which add some aspects and a few other things to research to it, but now onto the question.

We all know that with Thaumcraft 4, there are things that can be automatically purchased provided we have the RP to do it, and there are things that require us to research it on the table manually. There are also things that we have to "discover" in order to research these.

For example, I want to research the Lamp of Growth, but I need to "discover it first. I have already done the arcane lamp, and have subsequently scanned it, but it still remains undiscovered. What do I need to scan to "discover" this item, as well as others? The Thaumcraft thread doesn't yield any help for this unless I've overlooked it.

Same question, but for the infusion crafting, I can't find that on my book anywhere yet.

The Lamp of Growth? Need to unlock Infusion Crafting to be able to actually research it.

Oh, and Infusion Crafting IIRC Requires Essentia Distilation.

You recall offhand what page of the Thaumonoonononicon that is on? I'm drawing a blank atm.

I don't know as in my games it is accessible very early in the game. When you check in research tree does it say anything in there or you simply don't have any image for a lamp andfor infusions? As with me I always go with all basic page of rresearch then with better wands and alchemy and usualy by the time I want to get anything else they are accessible. You could try to do some research where I did and see if that's helpful. Sorry I couldn't be more specific.

I see the image for the lamps, but unless I am just flat out blind, I don't see the image for the altar/magical building blocks

As yx33a said unlock essentia destilation and warded jars andyou should have access to infusion.

Essentia Distillation under Alchemy first, then you should see Infusion under Artifice. If you've done Infusion and are still lost do remember that some entries in the Thauminomicon have more than one page. Click the arrows st the bottom of the page.

Finally found them. I think my eyes are going away on me
