O_O
Can you destroy, remove, contain it somehow?

a node can always be destroyed, but it'll be very difficult to destroy a node like that, since it sucks everything in. you might be able to destroy it using tnt or some kind of explosion, but I'm not sure

Is there any way to drain compound aspects from nodes yet?

Also is there a chance that nodes WON'T be damaged when bottling them? So far all six of the nodes I've bottled have been downgraded to "pale", and they regenerate so SLOW.

I bet there will be later research options (still to be implemented) that will help with bottling nodes and their degradation chance.

It doesn't need blocks to spread. Biomes are always going to be there.

That's why Pure nodes convert the area around them to a Magical forest biome.[DOUBLEPOST=1382111949][/DOUBLEPOST]

Actually now that I've started working on the Infusion Altar, I've now got way too much vis. I kinda hope they add more uses for Vis.

I'm comparing the system with the TC2 version, where we don't have tainted biomes.
Also which would be more powerful, a magic forest or a tainted biome?
Maybe it's affected by the amount of nodes?

Mat could be right. I'm just going by my own logic. Either way there's a new block as of 4.0.2a that actually heals biome taint.
Look it up on my guide if you don't know it. It's the Ethereal Bloom

But the etheral bloom got the same effect as a pure node, A.K.A Magic Forest Maker.

The Biome makes the area corrupted.
The node corrupts the biome.
The block is the result of corruption.
So the node keeps corrupting the area or the biome after corrupted got a code to spread, like the IC2 Terraformer.

so, if you were to bottle the corrupted jar, would that stop the taint from spreading?
if so, would the taint disappear by itself, or would you actually need to place down a pure node (or a purifying block) to get rid of the taint that exists...

Again, no sure, but I think the biome would stay and spread if it got the spread code.
Else without the node it wouldn't spread but still would stay as tainted biome.

There's an upgrade to the Wand Recharger that can drain compound aspects and break them down to their primal aspects for charging your wand. It's not very efficient, so I'm assuming there'll be a better option later on.

If you want more information on that, here.

(This is from my guide.)

Wand Recharge Pedestal Automated Wand Recharging
Research: Auram - Permutatio - Potentia - Praecantatio
Required Research: [ research pending ]
Recipe: [ x ]
Nature: Wand Recharger
Description:
Traveling around the countryside to recharge your wand is all good and well, but an automatic way of doing it would be much better.
This specially crafted pedestal does just that - any wand placed in it will automatically draw vis from nearby nodes.
Nodes will not be fully drained unless it is a poor quality wand crafted from iron or sticks.

Compound Recharge Focus For everything a use
Research: Auram - Instrumentum - Permutatio - Potentia - Praecantatio
Required Research: [ research pending ]
Recipe: [ x ]
Nature: Compound Vis Node Extractor
Description:
In your travels you have discovered several nodes that contain compound aspects, but as yet there has been no way to tap this rich source of vis. Until now.
This focus can be placed on top of a wand recharge pedestal which will allow any want it contains to siphon off the compound vis from any nearby nodes. Unfortunately each point of compound vis is broken down into a single point of primal vis and all the excess energy is lost. However it is a good start and you are sure you will discover better ways to access this resource.

My biggest gripe so far is that there's a lot of wand foci that seem like they would be useful....if there were a way to quickly switch to them and back. Especially the Thaumic Tinkerer foci like Telekinesis. I guess I can just make a new wand for each focus which is effectively the same as previous incarnations of Thaumcraft, but that just seems wrong to me.

Also a huge problem is that Portable Hole sucks now. The Potency upgrade increases how long the hole is but not how long it stays open for. On top of that it can now open holes even if there's nothing on the end. These combine to make it so it's very easy to trap yourself. I MUCH prefer the old portable hole.

So, more or less sucker bait, then. :p

Maybe Azanor'll add an equivalent of the taint research from TC2 later on.

all you need is a silver wood or a new plant its in more recent direwolf videos but that combats taint nodes become tainted if near taint
