As stated in the thread title I was wondering if merging aura nodes is still possible.. I've tried a couple of times in creative to spawn some close to each other and wait, wait and wait =) But the nodes didn't merged and I could't find any updated wiki regarding this.

With Node in a Jar research it's kinda awesome to move a node inside the base to easly recharge wands, but I would like to have maybe one or two nodes and no more. However I'm still searching for a big nodes with tons of vis =)

I don't think you can merge nodes, but with certain addons you can create and modify nodes to get the traits you want.

Thanks, since I'm playing the direwolf20's pack I guess this is not possible with the installed mods D:

Correct. You would need to manually install the addons to the pack.
Could you please tell me this mod's name? Since I play in a little server with fellow friends we could easly make a kind of spinoff modpack direwolw+this one =)

Also hungry nodes convert eaten objects into aspects. A tricky obsidian room and upgraded wand station can easily net you a good bit of aspects

its not research, its a rare node. Be careful with taming

Could it work to build a force field with MFFS of 3x3 around the node, place the wood slabs on top and then use the crystallize module to crystallize the force field with glass?

Yeah I searched better in the wiki, however what about the MFFS idea to capture it ina jar and setup a cool wand recharge station in a safe room? =)

Just use obsidian, then Equal trade it to glass, its alot easier and quicker, while crystalizing the node may eat the glass, becaus the crystalizer is slow.

What if I would like to make some tests in a creative world? Since aura nodes have the same id NEI can't be used, it always spawn normal nodes. Is it possibile to find the normal spawned hungry nodes knowing the seed of the world?

As a note. Hungry nodes may be disabled by the FTB team, so you may have to reenable them in the config file.

I think NEI can indeed be used. It's a very small chance of spawning a hungry node though. And yes, you can find hungry nodes just running around.

Hungry nodes should be enabled in the DW pack as stated here:
Code:
    # Negative nodes like hungry, tainted or dark nodes will have additional, much nastier, effects.
    B:hard_mode_nodes=true

And I luckly found this settings xD I thought it was an enabled feature xD:
Code:
    # The chance per block update (1 in n) of the Taint biome spreading. Setting it to 0 prevents the spread of Taint biomes.
    I:biome_taint_spread=0

However in the Thaumcraft.cfg file of the server I didn't found any line stating that hungry nodes are enabled or disabled.

I'm getting a bit annoyed xD Still haven't found one and the explored map is getting pretty big so far.
