Tech side builds rejuvenation missiles. Tech side wins.

Reasoning: Rejuv missiles reset the entire chunk they hit. If they hit warded stone, they still reset the chunk. The warded stone remains, but the rest of the chunk is reset. Also works on MFFS forcefields.

Wouldn't Galacticraft be the Tech equivalent of Mystcraft?

I'm suspecting this war will end with a taint infested overworld, a shadow of what it used to be. A handful of survivors might still be eeking out a living, from tech based airships or magic villages. But with no ore left to mine to maintain reactors, any forcefield domes have long sense run out of fuel and died off. Ever play the Tiberium series? I'm thinking that.

Come to think of it, that would make a decent fanfic... *starts writting*
windmills lots of em sgould be ableto keep the forcefield up or just tons of watermills

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
Theres a lot of tech builds that can self sustain

-solars, wind/watermills, RP thermopiles, Rotarycraft steam/DC engines.
The GT fusion reactor can run itself indefinitely.

Unless theres a mod with adds entropy effects or nature recovering and taking over.

(There was a brilliant mod called nature overhaul- trees would naturally die and drop self-planting saplings, so forests spread and wither. Everything growing and changing around you- brought the world to life)

Mystcraft + ender chests. Sure you reset those chunks, but not the ones in ANOTHER DIMENSION! lol.

Worth noting that logistical superiority is easily taken by tech. Applied Energistics has no rival in sight.

And by definition, magic can ultimately win the philosophical war. It's magic. It never has to make sense. :p

I'm pretty sure that mod was updated to 1.6, but it's buggy as hell - some biomes start permanently decaying.

Techs and Mages living peacifully together.. then, out of nothing, suddenly there is war. War rages for weeks, till whole Overworld is full of taint and damn big nuke craters. Techs flee to moon, and Mages to other dimension. Overworld gets new name, The End. Mages and Techs give peace a change, and they together shape new world, where they place one guy only, Steve.

Even though this thread has been necro'd it would be interesting to entertain this concept again as the suite of both magic and tech mods have increased considerably. Both sides have more options now, I'm not sure if Witchery was a thing back in December 2013 but get the taglock of a few tech dudes and it might not be pretty. Also a legion of Thaumiturges in full fortress armor invoking chaos it's self with the primal focus, if Tinkers construct is in the shadowbeam focus could quickly annihilate most advances.
But then Tech has Redstone Arsenal enchanted to top tier with MFR auto chanters sniping the thaumiturges 2 shotting them. One to wreck their Runic Sheilding and the other to land the coup-de-grase. While the Thaumic Legion would be wrecked, the Blood Fiend Warlock company will have been tunneling in to the tech fortress with their demonic tunneling spell to unleash a tide of blood. Once in the Witchery specialists will collect taglocks failing that set up rose traps for the stragglers to add insult to injury.

There should be modpack for ultimate tech vs magic wars and corresponding server. 2 teams, 2 bases, 2 armies, 2 different kinds of arsenal. (And shitload of fun)

Well here's the difinitive answer, only 2 mods have the ability to kill players in creative mod, they go through ALL invunerability. The MFR laser drill and the MFFS secuiry field. Tech wins. One security field set up around your base and noone could get in spitting distance, it can't be seen, can;t be stopped and steals all the items from a player it kills. GG Magic.

Don't forget Mystcraft's ability to do worse than kill a creative player... trap a player in a void age. GG, no respawn.

That would mean clicking a link book. Why would someone in a tech vs magic, who is on the side of tech click a link book?

TBH, AE does that better, trap someone in spacial storage disk. At least you can build those anywhere and activate it with a button push.

Surprise portal would do it. Build doorways in base out of crystals on carpenter blocks except one doorway with a golem waiting to turn it to a portal.

What if magic uses that awesome blood magic spell system, I think the spell Rorax made on forgecraft could possibly be fast and powerful enough to get through a forcefield. Aim it at the power gen and boom, forcefield power gone...

I so want to test this idea on a server sometime...

Oh or better yet, place the portal one block under any flat surface and portable hole focus an unsuspecting combatant into it. Let's see a jetpack respond faster than a one-block fall.

I don't think you understand how big those fields get, it's not like it's out in the open, those things can get massive, also the security field isnt visible and doesnt stop attacks, it just suddenly /kill commands whatever walks into it.

Does that bypass Death Protection Poppets? If not, the mages could literally walk through it.
