Just tried them, Just about every single one gives me an aspect... So what's good for Ignis then?

He's speaking about Deconstruction, not burning in a furnace :3
You get exact same elements with deconstruction table don't you? Sure the arbor aspect might divide to its primal components but boat should have aqua.

The thing is with crafting tables, that you ALWAYS get an aspect by using them. Other items have a chance of being destroyed and yielding zero points. It may not always be the point you need but you'll eventually stack up.

Wool makes for a pretty good deconstruction item as well. I've also used the natura berries. The berries don't always give an aspect, but they are so easy to get and so plentiful, it kinda balances them out. (unless you are standing there waiting)

Netherwart held me over during my "famine" of aer and aqua. I shall recommend it unto thee.
Yes, a fiery hellplant gave me RPs for water. Deal with it.

If you have Harvestcraft, the fresh water (4 from one water bucket) is a cheap source of aqua, btw.

If you want a lot of reserch points abuse villagers; Thaumcraft villagers almost always end up with a knowledge fragment trade (you can use them to gain 1-2 of each base aspect) and it's usually bookcases for fragments. If you are clever you can play the villager market by selling paper/ books to librarians and use those emeralds to buy their bookcases without ever having to craft a book case. Then again it's probably faster to craft them and sell them but you may still need emeralds to unlock the trades if their last trade isn't the fragments. The trading can be made easier with a trading post if you don't relish hunting down villager for trades.
I mean you can rely on a deconstructor but that's a lot of looking in to a GUI and hopeing for the best, I tried the netherwart thing but it's way too slow and doesn't net you the aspects you want, also thaumaturge villagers usually also have a trade for blank wisp essence which is a farmless source of auram.

You can also take a Pech hostage, but that will require emeralds anyway to gamble up some fragments along with a lot of other handy loot.

I am thankful the "Crafting tables in your deconstruction tables are all you need, nothing uses much Ignis" phase has ended. Lordy Lord was that shit hard to get @ThatOneSlowking to grasp, the poor bugger.

Good thinking on the 'wart. Gonna do that ASAP. It may not have all aspects but it's got the ones I use a lot of if it's got Ignis, Aer, and Aqua!

Yeah, it's hardly used for any research and only links to lux and potentia. I think metalum should be made of ignis and saxum.
And here we go again...
Don't get me wrong, if you never use much Potentia or Potentia Accessories, Ignis sounds meaningless. I use it constantly. Know why? I use the default research mode, connect the aspects. And I use a LOT of Praecantio. Turn off that mode, and go easy on everything? TONS OF IT!
I'm often asking myself, "why can't I hold all this Terra"? because I use pretty much zero terra. Unless I'm using the Victus chain, that is. I occasionally ask myself "Why can't I hold all this Ordo?" because I have a LOT of it. Until I start combining aspects again. "Why can't I hold all this Ignis?" is not an issue for me. I am always low on it. Because I'm always low on Potentia, because I'm always low on Praecantio. And I always need more Praecantio then I think I do.
