I agree with the map reset.
I agree that Dense ores should be taken out.
I agree that the current map is seemingly chunkloaded way too much.
An idea i have had is to have 2 worlds for building in. The problem on the current server is the overworld gets a really bad tps. While the rest are still at 100%. The overworld is getting hounded by chunkloaders and mob farms among other things. Perhaps if there was a seperate world for Mob Farms so they dont affect the Overworld at all. Also i dont see the need for everyone requiring a T5 soul shard... 1 public shard/farm for each mob type is fine. even T3...
On chunkloading. Ive never used a chunkloader in minecraft. Except for in single player fo a quarry and a lava transportation between worlds. I dont get why people always chunkload there entire base 24/7 and amass resources while they are offline. TBH it sorta ruins the game. But thats My opinion.. No offence to anyone but the amount of people running SC2 treefarms having barrels with over 1k stacks of wood seems a little crazy... It seems like every person on the server has one...

Its been agreed that all players are being given a 512 chunk loading cap. Also chickenchunks are being configured to not work offline. This should help some of the lag.
512 cap per player!? Who needs near that much? A max size quarry is 25. Most of what people need to chunk load can fit in a 3x3, so let's give them a 5x5 just to pad it out. That's 50. What more needs to be chunk loaded that would require 10 times that as a limit?

Some of us dont build up, we build out, as most of us like to build at bedrock or atleast near bedrock, and A/E base is generally 5x5 alone, thats excluding the farms, the quarry, and anything else we need to have loaded so it doesn't overflow...
Btw, Who are you? I don't believe you even play yet to know what we even use our chunk loaders for.
I don't play often because the constant block lag annoys the hell out of me. I find it exceptionally hard to build anything when I have 1-2 seconds of block lag and a good 30% of the blocks I have to break twice as their breaking isn't registered by the server.I initially chalked it up to some PLoss between me and the server but now I see other people are experiencing it, too, and blaming it on excessive chunk loading and spawners.
Nana managed to fix my RP crash at last so I'm back on the server. I found a small bee leak in my base which I've fixed, so that might help the overworld TPS a little.
I have a pretty high spec PC, a good internet connection and I'm in England so a lot of people are asleep when I'm online. This all means lag/TPS isn't a major issue for me, but it is a problem for quite a few other people for sure. As much as I'd love to see something like the forgecraft spawner setup at spawn, I think a void age for a set of mob spawners would be a good idea to help with TPS/lag. Chunk loading is probably more of an issue for most people, and I think the loaders stopping when you are offline should be enough to solve a lot of the TPS issues, but I can design/build within whatever limits Tahg decides on.
As for shards, right now everyone having a set of shards is a bit pointless, but soul shards has a lot of things planned to use the souls people collect on stuff other than spawners, so I'd like to be able to work on my shards still. I don't plan to setup any spawners less than T5 in any case, and they will always be turned off unless I actually need stuff from them.
weird0 enter ts and ask around for the link to the drop box someone setup for v8.0. but you wont need it later today *friday*. we might be able to update to 8.01 finally. we have the update ready just waiting on being able to contact cww.

Only people on during the early afternoon experiance that, me, elguito, and the nightfolk never/hardly ever crash(until recently), we get a couple TPS Drops here & there, but thats normal for any server with mods, its to be EXPECTED of, aswell block lag is YOUR internet, or the TPS Has bombed, generally if you just read chat, they will say either its TPS or Block lag, but so far, nobody here has had an issue with connection to the server other than client side. the server is fantastic, only issues is minecraft itself and a few mod code derps. can you fix it? maybe slightly, but your gonna have to deal with your bad connection/flaws with games/java.
Aswell Weylen explained magically alot about chunk loading, and believe it or not, the server is handling chunk loading fantasticly fine at an amazing 3GB of RAM used at most/all times, with the TPS at 11-20 24/7, server is doing FINE.

My connection is hop #1. <10ms across the board. Charitably you can say that "my internet" is really out to, oh, call it hop 4 as that is when it gets out of Las Vegas. Now look waaaayyyy down at hop 11-16, with 16 being the server. Notice the wild deviations in time? The packet loss? Yeah, that's not "my" internet. Don't believe me? Here's an MTR from my leased machine in Texas.
From what i can tell the tps is fine, since the rp2 thing was sorted the tps has been stable around 50-70% not ideal but un-noticable when playing. As far as connection lag comes in i have experienced little to none and would possibly suggest it is your connection which is causing your lag, thats all I can really input on the situation. also on another note, the map will be updated when mystcraft does so no point of asking when until that is out, also from what ive heard the whitelist will NOT be un-frozen until the strange tps issues have been sorted.
