I'll walk you though it again (and include this incase mine don't work) http://gregtech-addon.wikispaces.com/Industrial+Grinder

build the casings.
Put the grinders in place. Put a MV transformer against the grinder. Put a MFSU against the transformer. Do not put anything into the grinder if there isn't 13k EU in the MFSU.

Kaboom otherwise? And I almost have it made already. I know what you were talking about. So many items. @.@ Need to find a way to power this too. Uugu. Need more rubber. The reinforced blocks were actually easier to make then the normal ones. And I havent even made the block itself. @.@

Edit: Nevermind. Im dumb. Each recipe gives 4. Which means I made way too much. xD Hopefully I can use these extra circuits later. Time to try and make the actual industrial block

Editedit: Stupid question in the grand scheme of things, but I never had automated pumping. So how would I go about setting up a pump to supply the grinder with water? So I dont need to do it old school and run with buckets.

Do the aquius acumulator for the water.

But no, for the rare things from the end you want mercury cells and the other exotic requests. Go into nei, pull up something that processes in the grinder, and click on it so you can look through all the grinder recipes.

If there isn't 13k, it'll consume the resources and give you nothing. If it isn't a MV transformer, it WILL go boom.

Yepyep. I got it set up. Now I just need to see how the hell to hook up a lava tank to some sort of power source to dedicated power this thing. Shhh, gives me an excuse to make a xycraft tank. I have no idea how to do any of this, so Im anticipating tons of failure. But thats half the fun.

Tell me, and show pictures, of where your MJ's come from.

My current set up is only for my small machines. Its a bunch of crap and isnt worth looking at. My lava tank is going to be for my industrial grinder. And I have no idea how to transfer the lava into power. Im thinking the way it works is ender tank on top, pumping lava into the valve(Right?) Valve on bottom outputting lava into a thermal generator? Or whatever is the best version of that? That hooks up to a mfse and that hooks up into a transformer?

Couldnt you just have an automated ender tank set up? Cheaper then tesseracts.

And my engines are just electric engines and a bunch of magma crucibles set up to geothermals set up to my mfse/u/whatever its called. The t3 energy holder. Nothing special. My power supply is just 10 solars and the 2 geothermals. But thats its own network.

Don't look to "cheaper" some things cost more for good reason.

You are not telling me where your power comes from though.

Electric turns EU into MJ. MJ is being turned into lava. Lava is being turned back into EU. This is a loop, this is not power being made.

Though once you have the basic system setup, you can upgrade the geothermals to the better version of gregtech geothermals, just be careful, those explode in the rain.

Extra power runoff from the crucibles from netherack.

Okay. I got stuff beginning to be set up. Now I just need to figure out how to finish up connecting everything. I have my tank being slowly filled. 4 redstones on a pump in the nether. Its slow lava but it doesnt require me to do much else for it so it'll do for now. I made 3 of the T2 thermal generators. Built my aqueous thingy.

Just wanted some confirmation that the machine wouldnt explode when I connect it all up. Or does the mfsu need to be further away? I have the nodes correctly connected so Im not worried about that. Just about their proximity or if I should put the power box further away and wire it. With the fact that I have 3 T2 thermals I was debating that anyway. Right above this room is my trashy machine room and Glass lines have a loss of 30 blocks. So I was thinking of connecting both systems together rather then using a whole tank of lava just for a grinder. Either that or moving my machine base down here.

That said. From what I see, aqueus accumelator doesnt reuire powering, just water. So this is really a two part question.

A) How would I set it up? Over water or surrounded by water like I had in my watermills?

B) Where is the water input for the grinder, any block? And does it need to be disconnected should I need to use other material such as a mercury cell.

Edit: I should probably put down the link to the picture.

Yeah. Thats fine It all works. Apparently falling asleep while playing minecraft is bad. I woke up with a creeper stuck between my chests. Thankfully It was stuck. Also woke up with the tank filled. I started it up and.. we has powah! And holy crap its building fast.

Whelp. This thing is an absolute beast. And apparently 3million buckets of lava is immense power. Filled up this mfsu with barely budging the lava level. Ended up turning off the pump cause I dunno if it knows to not pump if it cant fill in anymore.

That said. Do I need a pulverizer anymore? What big machines phase out lower ones? So I can see what part of my terrible upper network can be removed.

Minor bump. I decided to build a mass fabricator cause I need sunnarium. And only UU matter can create it. I had enabled it in gregtech cause.. yeah. Anyway. For some reason it doesnt seem to be working for me..

http://i.imgur.com/vPsmT5F.jpg

Thats my set up. Using glass fiber shouldnt give any loss over this short a distance. The mass fabricator is supplied with 20 scraps and shows as powered but the progress doesnt go up from 0%.

My MFSU is fully stocked with 2mil EU and I turned off my lava power for now but its constantly powered by 3 advanced thermals. Anything Im doing wrong?

it's not going to budge for a very, VERY long time.
it's 16.6 MILLION eu.
1% of that is 167,000 EU. Your still only making about 100 or so. In 30 minutes, you might see it move 1%.

OOOOOH. That would be why. I got my numbers wrong. Thats fine then. Damn. That seems really inefficient then. How do people always talk about making a lot? Is it all the scraps?

Also, it doesnt seem to be drawing any power from my mfsu. My power isnt budging an inch downward and I turned off all power being supplied to it.

Edit: Disregard everything. MFSU has only 1 output which was my problem. As such I had to hook up to my transformer instead. All works. granted its only 170 volts now. But its done and works and I got my first UU matter.

People talk about the mass fabricator, that's the one that costs ... much MUCH less. Scrap has it's own cost, with not being able to make scrap from stone it's honestly better to just use diamond dust these days.

Now, as for the pulverizer? Go ahead and keep using it for anything that is not going to produce a rare gregtech side product. If you had to silk touch it, put it through the industral grinder. Nicolite ore gives diamonds, for example. If you can just mine it (overworld) or it came from your quarry, just pulverize it, or use it to make rich slag. Remember you can make more platnium with the rich slag and that goes towards irridium production.

Now, I'm going to point something out. The added power that you get from the sunnarium infused solar pannels? It will takes months of the game running 24/7 to pay back the costs. The advanced solars do not pay off with gregtech installed. There are reasons for uum, but it's mostly irridium, but those are mostly things that are very useful, but late game.

So start making 10, 20, 50 of the t2 geothermals. Turn the pump back on, and then do the upgrades, as you will want the lava. Then start looking at things that take superconductors... grav plate.

I still like solars. And I turned off advanced recipes. So its their normal ones.

it don't matter. Advanced solars is the mod, and the solarium cost recipies will never pay off with gregtech.
the math does not lie.

So what you do is you use more of the low tier, as those have a payback time measure in days, instead of months of gameplay.
I'm not saying "don't use solar" I'm saying, "forget the sunarium, it's ineffective"

Is it really that bad though? I just made 2 UU matter in < 3 minutes. Seems like my time was paid off rather quickly? Irridum seems like the tougher thing to make.

Edit. Its also 1mil EU per UU matter. Not more. o.o

if it's 1m even, you edited something.
I think you are looking at the 1m cost of the mass fabericator without scrap.
But the matter fabircator costs 100 times as much as the mass fab.

http://feed-the-beast.wikia.com/wiki/Matter_Fabricator

so 16.7 million, not just 1m. (I always get it wrong, I always think it's just 1.6m ... it's always worse then I imagine).

Now, if instead you make 4 of the 32, it pays back in about 4 days.

Due to the increase in cost (by 1000 times) of UUM used to make the higher tiers of advanced solars, it's better to just make more of the lower tier ones.

Look, you are not a server, there isn't going to be 10 of you, it won't destroy the world for you to use more lower tier solars. Put down a MFSU, put out a line of 39 glass fiber cables, and put 39 of the 32/t. That's quite a bit of power, and it'll be fine.

I did state I was using a mass fabricator and not matter fabricator. >>; Im against gregtech's whole delio with arbitrarily increasing costs for stuff.

Mass Fab is 1mil, not counting scraps.

ah, then yes, it does pay off in less then 2 months, but you still get better returns from using more of the 32 then the 128's, pay off is still faster.

Sorry for not noticing.

Well, I don't know if you can use diamond dust as an accelerator, but it might be worth it anyway.

You'll find a use for the lava now, eh?

Yah I will. Now Im trying to set up a storage network. I have the items, but I need to find the perfect way to power it. Debating siphoning from this mfse again under the stone and putting it into the wall. Can ME take in any form of voltage?

lava is definitely a good source of power, but if you're looking for something more fun, give a tree farm a go. Forestry is a bit tougher than it used to be because of apatite, but Steve's Carts, MFR, and even Felling Turtles are good sources of wood. Automate the wood collection and replant, burn the wood in engines or a railcraft solid fuel boiler, and then you can even process the saplings into biomass, then biofuel, then into a liquid fuel railcraft boiler. You can use apple juice in the fermenters for more biomass (?).

but if you're boring and all EFFICIENT and stuff just add more lava engines and you'll never run out of power if your buffer's big enough. The only thing that might impact your power would be running multiple magma crucibles or Greg machines, but the solution to that is - you guessed it - more engines/generators.
